Many people have to start their automotive experience with budget cars. Therefore, a domestic manufacturer becomes a real salvation. Essentially good cars and inexpensive parts allow you to enjoy all the benefits of transport for quite a long time. However, over time, thoughts about tuning appear. Some of the cars we produce are simply designed for this. For example, you can make a very impressive tuning of a VAZ 2110, but at the same time invest an acceptable amount.

Areas of work

Usually, there is a standard set of areas of the car that can be tuned in principle. In the VAZ 2110 they are completely similar to those that are used on other models:

  • appearance;
  • power unit;
  • release;
  • chassis;
  • salon.

Tuning 2110 is so multifaceted that many operations in this process can only be carried out by specialists at a serious service station. However, there are also a lot of improvements that anyone can make. Let's move on to consider the various options. Each individual area of ​​the car deserves special attention.

But before you start tuning the VAZ 2110, you need to have a good idea of ​​the end result. Car tuning is not an easy task, so we have posted a lot of interesting instructions with photos on how to modify the VAZ 2111. To install sound insulation sheets on a VAZ 2110, it is necessary to provide access to the trunk floor, rear wheel arches and the rear parts of the rear wings. The sound insulation parts of the luggage compartment are made of two types of materials. We install sheets of bitumen laminate on the trunk floor and wheel arches, and sheets of bituminized cardboard with a special vibration-damping layer on the rear fenders. To install sound insulation, we remove the shelf, pile covering and upholstery of the luggage compartment.

We release the rear parcel shelf from the latches and...

...we take it out of the luggage compartment.

We bend the side protrusions at the back of the pile covering towards the center.

We move the covering towards ourselves..

...and, folding it, we take it out of the luggage compartment.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screws of the upper fastening of the side trims of the luggage compartment of the VAZ 2111.

Unscrew the screws for the rear trim fastenings.

We remove the luggage compartment lighting lamp from the left side trim. Without disconnecting the wires from the light, we turn it, thread it through the installation hole in the upholstery and place it on the floor of the trunk.

We remove the upholstery from under the support of the rear parcel shelf and bend it towards the back of the rear seat.

We install the VAZ 2112 soundproofing sheet to the left of the spare wheel niche.

We install a sheet of sound insulation behind the back of the rear seat in front of the spare wheel well. No sound insulation sheets are installed to the right and behind the spare wheel well. This is due to the fact that the spare wheel well is located asymmetrically relative to the center of the luggage compartment floor.

We install the rear wheel arch sound insulation sheet so that it does not overlap the arch pads. In this case, there is no need to mold the soundproofing material in a sub-stamping so that it fits tightly to the metal.

Glue a sheet of sound insulation to the inner surface of the rear wing panel. We install the sheet below the wing understamping, on a flatter surface, which, due to lower rigidity, compared to the surface above the understamping, needs damping to a greater extent. After gluing, heat the material with a hairdryer to improve adhesion. Similarly, we install soundproofing sheets for the rear wing and wheel arch on the right side. We install the upholstery, pile covering and luggage compartment shelf in the reverse order. Reinstall the luggage compartment light.

Appearance

Wheels

As a rule, the first thing owners pay attention to is the rims. Some purchase the same size, while others prefer to equip the “ten” with 16 or even 17-inch rollers. This, coupled with low-profile tires, immediately gives the car a sporty feel.

Overlays

Another option for relatively inexpensive tuning is the use of linings: “fly swatters” on the hood, visors on the windows, fairings, linings (usually chrome) on the handles, eyelashes on the headlights, mesh in the radiator grille, as well as an air intake and other things. All these devices are cheap (around 500 - 1000 rubles), and there are no problems with their installation - either fixation with double-sided tape, or fastening with self-tapping screws or bolts.

Optics

Regarding headlights, there are almost no ready-made products, so many tuners have to upgrade stock headlights. They are dismantled and disassembled. The interior is often painted black, which creates a darkening effect. In addition, xenon is often integrated into headlights, blocks of which can be purchased for about 3,000 rubles, and more powerful halogen lamps such as Narva Range Power White 4100K or Philips blue vision xenon effect 4000K are installed. Lenses are also installed, analogs of “angel eyes” are created, etc.

However, all of these are, for the most part, homemade devices. Some even create an analogue of adaptive lighting (when turning), for which another pair of fog lights is integrated into the front bumper at the corners. For example, Chinese lighting of the Brooklyn type for these purposes can be purchased for 1,000 rubles. In addition to them, LEDs are often integrated into the head optics and taillights, and DRLs are installed on the bumpers.

Body

And in this area there are a lot of opportunities, and almost everything is often remade. You can buy complex tuning kits - such as AVR (20,000 rubles), AVR Aurora (9,000 rubles), Fan (12,000 rubles), ST-4 (8,000 rubles), LSD (9,000 rubles) , DM (15,000 rub.), DM Coupe (9,000 rub.), Fanat Rem (7,000 rub.) and others. They are made of plastic, fiberglass and other materials. In addition to aesthetic purposes, such body kits significantly improve aerodynamic performance and optimize the engine cooling process.

However, it is by no means necessary to purchase body kits as a set - you can separately buy a spoiler, door sills, other bumpers and “skirts” for them. Naturally, this approach means a lot of expense, but it is much more convenient for minor changes.

Installing additional boxes in the trunk

The standard trunk volume of the VAZ 2111 is very large, so it is possible to change its configuration. Typically, boxes of shallow depth are installed on the sides of the trunk. They have doors built into them, behind which you can conveniently hide cans, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit and much more.

Simple trunk shapes make it easy to cut out the required shape and cover it with material that matches the interior. At the same time, the overall appearance of the car does not change in any way, but ergonomics increases significantly. It is also possible to install the box on the far wall, immediately behind the rear row seats, but in this format there will be difficulties with transporting large cargo, and it will be impossible to use the entire volume of the VAZ 2111 trunk with the seats folded down.

Engine

This area is very extensive. VAZ 2110 owners are ready to literally do anything and spend any money just to maximize engine power. And everything is not limited to chip tuning alone - serious technical changes are made to the engine, as well as to its attachments. The list of improvements is truly impressive:

  • installation of a zero resistance filter;
  • cold intake;
  • adjusting the operation of the injector and carburetor - up to drilling out the jets on the latter;
  • installation of a throttle valve of increased diameter;
  • purchasing a modified receiver;
  • direct-flow exhaust is one of the most common “features” of engine modernization;
  • elimination of the catalyst;
  • chip tuning – flashing the ECU unit;
  • modifications to the cylinder head - this includes the installation of new camshafts, grinding of channels in the receiver and manifold (intake), etc.;
  • modifications to the cylinder block - boring (increasing the working volume);
  • modernization of the lubrication system is especially important if you intend to participate in amateur races with your VAZ 2110 - “pokatushki”.

Not all such activities can be carried out on their own - a number of points will have to be improved at the service station. In addition, gradual improvements are not always advisable, which often occurs in the absence of the necessary budget, because you have to make adjustments several times, disassemble and reassemble the structure, etc. The main thing is to clearly understand what needs to be achieved so as not to waste effort, money and time are wasted.

Release

The number of roaring “ten” on the streets is sometimes simply amazing. At the moment, there is a persistent myth that forward flow significantly increases the output of the power unit. But that's not true. Yes, there is an increase in power, but it is so small that it is almost impossible to notice and feel it.

But this does not stop fans of “loud driving”. And yet, for the system to justify itself, it is necessary to install the entire kit at once:

  • tuned collector - about 3,500 rubles;
  • resonator (possibly with adjustable brackets) - from 1,500 to 3,500 rubles;
  • muffler with an oval or round nozzle made of aluminum - about 4,700 rubles.

And yet, if such driving is justified in the city, then outside it, especially at long distances, a constant loud sound will be annoying, and vibrations transmitted to the steering wheel in the case of an ill-equipped set will interfere with control.

Modifications of VAZ-2110

Varieties of the 2110 are precisely the VAZ-2111, 2112. All of these cars have 4-cylinder, 8- and 16-valve engines.
The volume of one gasoline tank is 1.5-1.6 liters. In the early 90s, cars were produced with a carburetor power system, but in the early 2000s they began to integrate fuel injection, which differs in distribution capacity, it is called an injector. The drive became front-wheel drive. Regarding the body, there are 3 different types:

  • VAZ-2110 is made in the form of a sedan;
  • body 2111 is called a station wagon;
  • 2112 is called a hatchback.

The difference in the 2110 modifications is significant - different bodies and engines. Everything else is very similar, so the craftsmen adjust some parts to each other if desired. The production of 2110 stopped back in 2007, but this does not prevent the produced cars from traveling around the country and beyond.

Drivers note the following advantages of the VAZ-2111:

  • machine reliability;
  • simplicity of design, conciseness and lack of pretentiousness;
  • low cost of domestic cars.

Thanks to these characteristics, the VAZ-2111 has become a real legend. But you can only dream about the luxury of the interior - everything is simple here, just like outside, if we talk about more space in the back, then you should choose 21099.

In Russia, winters are characterized by severe frost and temperature instability; many cars take a long time to warm up before setting off, which cannot be said about the VAZ-2111. The designers made sure that even at minus 25 degrees the car would start almost immediately, even if it had been parked for several days without moving.

What you need to pay attention to is the timely filling of oil, and the oily solution should correspond to the season. The chassis is also an excellent option for Russian roads. The luggage compartment capacity is 380 liters.

Chassis

There are no special improvements to be expected here. Changes in the brake system will inevitably lead to claims from traffic police officers. However, owners install disc brakes on the rear axle, completely redesigning the design. Perforated brake discs, pads, and caliper linings painted in bright colors are installed.

Separately, it is worth mentioning such do-it-yourself tuning of the 2110 as understatement. Strictly speaking, this is not prohibited. But high-quality work involves installing air suspension with the ability to adjust, but this implies significant costs.

However, many do not even want to spend capital on purchasing lowering springs! Instead, they simply remove the standard springs and saw off a coil, or even several, from them. Naturally, all this seriously worsens the controllability indicators, because the work is carried out “by eye” and there is no talk of any serious calculations.

Interior tuning

The standard dashboard is often subject to tuning, as it does not suit all drivers. The easiest way to upgrade is to install additional lighting.

In the case of the LED version, the cost of improving the instrument panel starts from 200 rubles.

Another option is to replace the instrument panel with a stock one or from another car. In this case, the owner will have to pay from 18 thousand rubles.

Reupholstering the interior is also popular among VAZ 2111 owners. The cost of work starts from 55 thousand rubles.
