Why the VAZ-2107 carburetor does not start and what to do

Ignition system failures

Next, you need to secure the wire in such a way that there is a small space between the selected part and its tip (5-7 mm is enough). If the car has an electronic ignition, the conductor must be secured especially carefully. After all, if it falls on ground, all electronics will most likely fail.

You should also not scratch the central wire across the body. Do not hold the conductor with your hand. The electric shock will be quite strong. If there is a spark in this system, then the problem is in another system.

What could be the reason?

When a VAZ 2107 car starts too poorly (that is, not the first time) or does not start at all, this greatly limits your capabilities. Of course, the most common reason is the usual breakdown of the starter on a VAZ 2107. There is nothing terrible or special about this. This often happens even on modern foreign cars. Dismantle this part and examine it to ensure its integrity. Thoroughly clean off accumulated deposits and apply new lubricant. It was the accumulated dirt and lack of lubrication that could prevent it from starting.

It is also impossible not to take into account the possible overheating of the engine, which has a very bad effect on it. This can happen not only in the hot season, but also on a cold winter day. Checking the voltage on the ignition coil

Fuel supply

If the VAZ-2107 car does not start even after all the above mentioned manipulations, the problem may be in the fuel supply system. With an injection fuel supply system, you won’t be able to do anything yourself. It can only cause harm. In this case, visiting the service cannot be avoided.

To do this, remove the air filter and press the accelerator pedal sharply. You can pull the throttle cable instead. You need to look into the carburetor from above (the air damper is open). If there is no stream of gasoline in the first diffuser, it means that the valve needle is stuck or the fuel filter is clogged.

Filter status

The following situation also happens. You arrived at your destination, turned off the engine for two minutes, got into the car and were unable to start it again. What to do if the VAZ-2107 (injector) does not start when hot? This could be due to a clogged fuel filter. Its replacement period is about 50 thousand kilometers. However, most often the cause is poor contact in the power connector of the ignition distributor. Injectors work in conjunction with ignition modules, of which there are usually two per engine. One ensures the operation of cylinders 1 and 4, and the second - cylinders 2 and 3.

In these systems, the electronic control unit, which generates control pulses for all systems, including the ignition, may be problematic. This block can only be checked by replacing it. The same can be done with ignition modules.

Sometimes the malfunction may come from the high-voltage coil; it does not produce voltage that can form a spark to ignite the air-fuel mixture. At this time, you need to crank the starter and watch the spark plug. The absence of a spark confirms that the ignition coil is faulty. It is impossible not to dwell on such elements of ignition systems as spark plugs.

They are the ones who ignite the combustible mixture in the working cylinders of the engine. Electric pump problem

Previously, one of the main problems on the domestic “Classic” concerned the fuel pump, which constantly overheated. But in the injection “seven” it is electric and is cooled by the gasoline itself that is in the tank. If there is no electricity supplied to the element, the car simply will not start. The first thing you should pay attention to is the fuse box.

It is written on the cover which one is responsible for the fuel pump. If the fuse is blown, replace it. A 15 or 20 amp element can be used.

Possible reasons for different types of motors

The breakdown may be specific to a particular engine:

Diesel

The most common reason for the inability to start a diesel power unit is incorrect operation or breakdown of glow plugs. Determining it is quite simple; to do this, you need to take pieces of thick cables and a battery and connect them to a power source. If the spark plug does not turn red from heat, it definitely needs to be replaced.

The engine may also not start due to air mixture entering the high-pressure fuel pump. If the car's engine operates with this system, which pumps diesel, then you need to turn on the ignition, then the silencing valve will move to the open position. Then you will need to pump the fuel until diesel comes out of the injector check valve instead of air. If the machine does not have a manual pumping drive, then the low-pressure pump is electrically driven.

In this case, it is recommended to activate the ignition for a few minutes.

Carburetor

It is recommended to start by checking the engine ignition system. This is done with a certain sequence of steps:

  1. to begin with, disconnect the central cable and bring it 5 mm closer to a metal object;
  2. After this, the starter turns.

If there is no spark, then the problem lies with the ignition coil. When it is present, you need to try to get sparks to form separately on each spark plug. To do this, you should, in turn, disconnect the cable that goes to one coil and stretch it to the metal part of the car.

The operation of the gasoline pump should be checked by removing the air filter cover and pulling the accelerator rod. When fuel enters the float chamber at the moment when the throttle valve is fully open, the pump operates normally. If gasoline does not flow, then you should:

  1. check if the carburetor sump mesh is dirty;
  2. functioning of the fuel filter.

Injector

In the case of an injection power unit, when you turn the key in the ignition switch, a quiet sound should be heard, similar to a buzzing under the rear seat. If you cannot hear it, then the fuel pump is not functioning. In this case, it should be replaced.

Starting problems may also occur if there is no fuel pressure in the rail. To check this, you need to press the valve, which is located under the cap. If the fuel supply has not started, then you should check the following elements:

  • intake mesh;
  • pressure reducing valve;
  • fuel filter.

If the owner has attempted to start the engine in the cold, the spark plugs may become flooded with gasoline. In this case, they can be dried; to do this, you need to disconnect the high-voltage cables and crank the starter for a certain time.
