1 2 Temp start tomahawk what is it - Car portal AutoMotoGid

Car theft is an everyday occurrence, which is why car alarm systems are purchased when purchasing a car in 100% of cases.
The Tomahawk anti-theft alarm system is a professional security system that uses modern advances and technologies. Experienced car owners claim that this is one of the best car protection systems today.

Tomahawk system capabilities

The company produces several versions of indicator key fobs, but the basic model is TZ-9010. Main features:

  • remote start of the car engine for any period of time. This function is programmed in advance. This allows, for example, to warm up the car in advance during cold periods;
  • auto system self-diagnosis;
  • function to call the owner when any sensors are triggered;
  • the presence of an anti-scanner and anti-grabber to protect against software hacking.

In more advanced versions, the remote control allows you to control the power sensor and perform remote (at a distance) autostart (if there is a built-in immobilizer). Also in advanced models, the range of the key fob is increased to 1.2 kilometers. It is possible to open the trunk of a car from a distance, as well as block the engine.

The latest version is capable of searching for the owner's lost car within range and has an indication of impacts on the car.

Starting the engine from a distance

Press button “2” once. The dimensions should blink three times, and the “16” icon will appear on the screen. The engine will run as long as pre-programmed, and then turn off. If you need to urgently increase the engine operating time, you can simultaneously press buttons “1” + “2”. The time will increase by 5 minutes.

However, to start the engine from a distance, a number of conditions must be met:

  • the ignition must be turned off;
  • the hood must be closed;
  • the car must be put on the handbrake;
  • The gearshift lever must be in neutral position.

If at least one condition is not met, the engine will not start and the siren will beep 4 times.

Heating at a given temperature

The system has a temperature sensor (located under the hood).
It is he who will be responsible for the temperature level when warming up the car. You can turn on the heating by simultaneously pressing buttons “2” and “3”. When turned on, the lights will blink once and the siren will sound once. When warming up, the screen will display 1 2 temp start.

Pressing this button combination again will turn off the heating.

How to install a car alarm

Detailed information along with the connection diagram is provided in the instruction manual. You can download the instructions from the link. The following describes the general principles of operation:

  • Initially, the terminal is removed from the battery, the front panel is disassembled and the working surface is prepared;
  • the alarm system is assembled and tested for serviceability before installation;
  • The main processor is installed in the cabin. It is important to protect it from high temperatures and moisture for correct operation;
  • The antenna is installed at the highest point, but away from metal parts that interfere with radio signals. An LED is displayed on the windshield to indicate the system status;
  • The Override service key is mounted. Its location should be hidden from the eyes of an intruder, because the button allows you to turn off the alarm in an emergency;
  • an audible siren is installed (the best place is under the hood, away from sources of high temperatures), as well as door, trunk, and hood limit switches (in places inaccessible to moisture);
  • The connectors are connected, the operation of the system is tested directly on the car.

How to set up auto-start alarm system Tomahawk 9030.

You can set up the car's autostart using the tomahawk 9030 alarm key fob, knowing the sequence of the necessary buttons.

Let's look at the basic principles of operation of the Tomahawk 9030 car alarm and autostart settings.

Before setting up the Tomahawk 9030 autostart alarm, you must carefully review the operating instructions.

The sequence of following the points to enter the setup menu is: ignition off, press the “Override” button six times, then turn on the ignition. As a correct result of these manipulations, the alarm will sound abruptly 6 times.

How to disable auto warm-up on Tomahawk 9030

The limit switch mounted on the hood shorts to ground. It is necessary to check the integrity of the device and replace it if necessary. If the trigger fails, its rod may “stick” in the lowered position. You will also need to check the wires and make sure their integrity; if the electrical circuits are damaged, they are replaced.

In other words, if a driver leaves his own vehicle for repairs at a car workshop, then this function should be disabled so that workers can carry out a range of necessary work on the car to ensure complete safety when driving on the road surface.

Ign by Tomahawk on display: what does it mean

The decoding of the “ign bye” indicator sounds like - the ignition is on. With this breakdown, the car will not be able to be started using the key or remote key fob. If the key is in the lock, just remove it from the cylinder and the alarm will go off.

If the indicator does not disappear, you will need to reboot the on-board system. This is done by disconnecting the battery from the car for 10-15 minutes. After the reset, you will need to reconfigure the control module and reset all settings.

Enabling auto alarm

On the electronic board, via a relay, connection parameters to sensors and ignition contacts are set. The unit is placed in a convenient location and connected to the necessary devices.

Based on the specified parameters, the relay is automatically switched from the key fob or mobile phone. After checking the pressure, the starter starts within two to four seconds.

Therefore, the optimal setting option for Tomahawk is control by tacho signal, with the starter cranking time set to maximum.

Press button No. 5 “Lock” until the sound signal (the LED on the additional key fob lights up green). Immediately press button No. 4 “Key” - the inscription “1-2 TEMP START” will appear on the key fob display and the temperature value at which the engine will start (programmable parameter) will be displayed. As soon as the temperature reaches the set point, the system will start the engine to warm up.

For vehicles with a turbocharged engine, the Tomahawk TW-9010 has a turbo timer function. If this function is activated, the engine, after turning off the ignition, continues to run for 1.3 or 6 minutes. (see programming table).

Programming remote start from key fob

Below we will look at how to turn on the engine of your car using the Tomahawk TW 9030 remote control. You can use both the main and additional transmitters.

  1. To remotely start the engine, press and hold the “Key” key. A sound signal from the main remote control will follow or the color of the LED on the additional pager will change.
  2. Press the “Lock Open” button again. Do it in three seconds.
  3. The car engine will start running.
  4. Turn off the engine by pressing the same key.

Valet mode, protection against false alarms, Remote status polling

To turn on the engine of your car during autostart, we use either the main or additional transmitter: click on the “key” button and hold it. The sound of the main remote control will sound or the color of the LED of the additional pager will change. Next, click on the “lock” button for 3 seconds. The engine of your car will start working.

The parking lights will flash 1 time, the siren will emit 1 “CHIRP”, confirming entry into the security mode, the doors will close.

In option 1, additional central locking control is completely disabled; in option 2, only a locking pulse is given at the end of autostart.

This mode can also be activated using the Anti-hijack button. Press the “Anti-hijack” button (the vehicle’s engine must be running). The parking lights will flash for 30 seconds, after which the system will turn on the alarm mode and the engine starter will be blocked.

Autostart is a convenient feature, but only if installed correctly. To remotely enable auto start on the Tomahawk alarm system, a number of conditions must be met.

The soft neutral procedure includes:

  1. Pull the handbrake with the engine running.
  2. Press the autostart button on the key fob - after that, an indication of engine operation (a cloud near the exhaust pipe) will appear on its screen.
  3. Remove the key from the ignition - if everything works correctly, the engine will not stall.
  4. Get out of the car. When the door is closed, the engine will stop.

The autostart operation of the Tomahawk TW-9010 concerns the following functions:

  1. Engine operating time – 5,10,15 or 20 minutes. The default is 10 minutes, in winter it is better to increase this time.
  2. Temperature for auto warm-up. Please note that it is measured by the alarm system in the cabin, and not by the engine. Setting options are from minus 5 to minus 30 degrees, the default is set to minus 10.
  3. Starter cranking time: 0.8 s, 1.2 s, 1.8 s or 3 s. By default, the starter turns on for 0.8 seconds. When using tachometer control, the Tomahawk will automatically disengage the starter when it detects engine starting, so set the crank time to 3 seconds. With other control methods, on the first start attempt, the starter is always turned on for a specified time, and each subsequent start attempt lasts 0.2 s longer. In this case, it is prohibited to set the scrolling time to 3 seconds!
  4. Engine control option. There are three options: 1 (default) – based on the voltage in the on-board network, 2 – based on the oil pressure warning lamp, 3 – based on the tachometer signal. Strive to use the third method, as it is the most accurate and safe for the starter. To correctly determine the start by tacho signal, the alarm needs to learn idle speed. To do this, when you turn on the ignition, press the Override button 9 times, then turn off the ignition, listen to 9 siren signals and start the engine. As soon as the engine speed drops to normal, press the Override button once until the beep sounds. If instead of a single signal the siren gives 4, this means that the selected tacho signal source is not recognized correctly and cannot be used by it.
  5. duration of activation of additional channel 2, to which the immobilizer crawler is connected if necessary. Switching on options: 0.8 s, 10 s, 30 s or constant switching on for the entire autostart time. The choice depends on the operation of the immobilizer in a particular car: if the car stalls after working for some time, change the function value from the default 0.8 s to a longer time until you achieve normal operation.
  6. control of the IGN 2 power cable and central locking during autostart. If your vehicle has two independent ignition switch circuits, you will need to use circuit IGN 2 and program it accordingly. In option 1, the IGN 2 circuit is turned on, the central locking does not lock at the time of autostart (more precisely, it retains the state at the time of autostart). In option 2, the IGN 2 circuit is disabled, as is the autostart control. In option 3, IGN 2 is used and an additional locking impulse is sent to the central locking system. In option 4, only the central locking control is activated.
  7. delay between turning on the ignition and starter during autostart. Option 1 is a two-second delay for gasoline engines, option 2 is a 10-second delay for diesel engines with glow plugs.

Programming of the main alarm functions is carried out using the Override button located in the car interior.

The engine will run for the pre-programmed time (see programming table) before automatically shutting off.

Type of gearbox and mode of preparation for autostart. Option 1 – automatic transmission, no need for “soft neutral”. Option 2 – manual transmission and automatic program neutral, which is activated every time the handbrake is pulled while the engine is running.

Select the appropriate function by pressing the Override button the number of times corresponding to the function number. After this, Tomahawk will report the number of the selected function in the form of a set of signals, where the short one is 1 and the long one is 5 (a series of two long and three short signals means that function 13 is selected).

The autostart operation of the Tomahawk TW-9010 concerns the following functions:

Preparation for automatic and manual

Before using the Tomahawk TV 9030 autostart function, prevent the vehicle from moving. On a vehicle with an automatic transmission, move the lever to the park position. On a car with a manual transmission, set neutral manually and apply the parking brake. Follow the steps before turning off the engine.

  1. Hold down the “Lock open” key until the remote control beeps.
  2. Press “Key” again and do not release for a second.
  3. Turn off the ignition and the engine should be running.
  4. Get out of the car and close the door. The control unit will automatically turn off the engine and arm the car.

The security mode with door locking during auto start is set as follows.

  1. Press "Override" eight times.
  2. Clicking the “Lock closed” key turns off the function.
  3. Turn on the mode by pressing one of the buttons: “Car is open”, “Trunk”, “Speaker crossed out”.

Parking lights during auto start are turned on according to the following algorithm.

  1. Press the Override button nine times.
  2. The first option is the “zZ” key.
  3. The second method is “Key”.
  4. The function is disabled – one of the buttons: “Trunk opener”, “Speaker crossed out”.

Do it yourself or contact a service?

Compared to the common algorithm, where auto start is reserved immediately when the handbrake is pulled, this one is more complex. Often, users simply forget about the need for forced reservation with the button on the key fob or, on the contrary, do it before pulling out the handbrake.

One of three “St” icons will appear on the screen - an attempt to start; "SP" - attempt failed; “Car” - the system is working, everything is functioning. The operating mode is accompanied by melodic sounds.

Press and hold button No. 4 “Key” until the key fob emits a melodic trill (the LED on the additional key fob lights up green). Immediately after this, press button No. 5 “Lock”. The system will notify you that the mode is turned on with two LED flashes, and the inscription “2-1 DAILY” will appear on the LCD display. Once the function is activated, the system will start the engine every 1/2/4/24 hours.

You can set up the car's autostart using the tomahawk 9030 alarm key fob, knowing the sequence of the necessary buttons.

Before turning off the engine, perform the following steps: press the “lock open” button until the signals from the remote control sound. Next, press the “key” and hold for 3 seconds. Then turn off the ignition. In this case, the engine in your car must be running. We get out of the car and close the door.

These services, at the same time, do not always have to be turned on in order for the car alarm system to work more efficiently over a long period of time.

The Samodelkin channel in its video talked about problems that can occur when implementing automatic start on the Tomahawk 9010 alarm system.

New key fobs are registered. 6 seconds after registration is completed, the system will exit the programming mode.

According to the application manual, the user can adjust the cranking time of the starter mechanism of the crankshaft. This parameter is 0.8, 1.2, 1.8 or 3 seconds. Initially, the starter is set to autoload for 0.8 s.

If the siren emits 3 “CHIRPS”, this means that the system has detected and disabled a faulty security zone (the door is open, the hood is open, the trunk is not on, the handbrake is not on). The system will automatically arm this zone as soon as it is corrected (the door, hood, trunk will be closed, the handbrake will be on).

Within the next 30 seconds, the user must remove the key from the ignition and leave the car. The engine will remain running.

To go directly from the standby mode to setting the alarm clock, bypassing the clock setting mode, press buttons No. 1 (trunk) and No. 3 (functions). Then they proceed according to the standard pattern.

The car engine starts for a set time interval when the set temperature is reached.

Every time you register new key fobs, you will have to register the old copies as well. Information about lost key fobs will be permanently deleted from the system memory. For the autostart to work, the car must be in neutral and the parking brake applied. A car with automatic transmission is in Parking mode.
