Tuning 124 Mercedes - rejuvenating the legendary model

"Mercedes" is a legendary car from 1984-1997, produced by a German concern. It was the first representative of the E-series with a distinctive design and excellent technical characteristics.

The body of the Mercedes 124 was made in five modifications: a station wagon, a four- and five-door sedan, a convertible and an extended sedan. The car was equipped with diesel and gasoline engines with a capacity of 135-370 horsepower. In the automotive markets, the Mercedes model is still very popular and is considered an eternal classic of the German automobile industry.

Despite the strict features of the car, many car owners try to tune the 124 Mercedes. The changes made to the car can be very diverse, as will be discussed below.

Classics of the German automobile industry

Many car enthusiasts from all over the world appreciated the excellent technical characteristics, low aerodynamics, good sound insulation of the interior and the conservative design of the Mercedes. Despite the fact that the 124 model did not appear on the Russian markets, many of its modifications were imported into the country in the 1990s.

The last released version of the Mercedes 124 was a convertible - the car was produced in this body from 1991-1997. Coupes, convertibles and sedans were equipped with diesel and gasoline engines; their power varied from 136 to 365 horsepower. Today, all these models require significant processing and modification: time has not been kind to them, despite the fact that some examples are well preserved.

Professional tuning of 124 Mercedes

Unfortunately, not all tuning studios agree to take on restyling the legendary car. Such work, which affects various parts of the Mercedes 124 (body, engine, interior, etc.), is performed only by large and well-known world-famous service centers: Carisson, Brabus, Lorinser, AMG. In such professional studios you can order truly luxurious and unique “German” tuning, but you will also have to pay a considerable amount for the services. Not every owner of such a car can afford it. However, tuning a 124 Mercedes can be done on your own, without resorting to the help of eminent masters.

Application for return of goods

How to fill out the Application header

  • “To whom - here you need to indicate the name of the selling organization, which is indicated on the check;
  • “Address - you must indicate the address of the selling organization;
  • “Consumer - the full name of the buyer is indicated;
  • “Address—the address of the buyer is indicated;
  • “Telephone is a telephone for communication with the buyer.

Enter the name of the product and the reason for the return

  • The name of the product should preferably indicate the seller’s article number, ideally indicate the data as in the receipt;
  • The reason why the buyer wants to return a product of proper quality back to the store, for example, you can indicate that the product does not fit in size or style, overall dimensions or weight, etc. according to Art.

If the seller does not have the relevant item for sale on the day of contact, the buyer has the right to demand a full refund, which must be returned to him within 3 days. We offer you to download a free sample claim for the return of furniture of proper quality. back to contents Incomplete or different color In a situation where furniture is brought in a different color, as well as when necessary parts or parts of a piece of furniture or furniture set are missing, the seller violates the contract concluded between him and the buyer. If the buyer discovers a shortage or incorrect color, size, design of furniture before signing the acceptance certificate, the defect should be indicated in this act.

Claim form for return of goods of proper quality Law No. 2300-I does not contain information regarding the claim form. We conclude that it can either be drawn up in writing or stated orally to the seller or the seller’s representative.

However, when making demands for the return of goods of proper quality, sellers are not always ready to satisfy the buyer’s request immediately, despite the fact that this is required by the legislator, and conflict situations can often arise. That is why it is logical to make a claim in writing in order to subsequently prove the fact of the appeal.

If the seller refuses to fulfill the customer’s requirements, then the only remaining way to return the money is to file a claim with the seller in court. Thus, furniture is practically no different from other consumer goods; the conditions for its return are regulated by Russian legislation.

The buyer has the right to return or exchange furniture if the terms of the contract are violated, be it the terms of its implementation, conditions or the item. Exchange or return of low-quality furniture is possible within the warranty period, and furniture that is incomplete or does not comply with the contract is possible if such a fact is indicated in the acceptance certificate. Returns of high-quality but unsuitable furniture are limited to 14 days and the product category (does not apply to furniture sets). In case of violation of these conditions by the seller, the buyer has the right to appeal to the judicial authorities.

Tuning options

The most common options for upgrading a car are interior tuning. Mercedes 124 is also a good platform for creativity in terms of its exterior. Such changes concern only the appearance of the car, without affecting its technical characteristics. The latter can only be improved through a comprehensive modification of the German car.

Tuning 124 Mercedes includes the following changes:

  1. Replacement of suspension and brake system.
  2. Interior improvement.
  3. Adding parts to the engine, installing an improved exhaust gas removal system.
  4. Replacement of optics - new and modern headlights for Mercedes 124.
  5. Installation of additional body kits that almost completely change the exterior of the car.
  6. Replacing the transmission - manual transmission with automatic transmission "Mercedes" 124.

Application for return of goods of proper quality sample - 2018

  • The claim can include legal provisions that allow the buyer to return goods of proper quality to the store. We are talking, for example, about Art. 25 of Law No. 2300-I.
  • If the buyer has a cash or sales receipt, it must be mentioned and a copy of it must be attached to the claim.
  • A claim for the return of goods of proper quality is made in the name of the store manager, so before writing it, we recommend that you clarify all the necessary details, the correct name of the organization and postal address. A sample claim for the return of goods of good quality can be downloaded here: Sample claim for the return of goods of good quality. Thus, filing a claim for the return of goods of proper quality is necessary if the seller does not want to return it voluntarily.

Modernization of design

Changing the exterior of a Mercedes almost always begins with replacing the glass. Their selection is very scrupulous: if you follow the advice of experts, it is better to select glass of a greenish tint and always tinted. They protect the interior from excess dirt and reduce the impact of sunlight on the driver's eyes. It is advisable to install rain and light sensors and power windows. Thanks to this, the Mercedes 124 will become an even more convenient car.

The next step is installing new bumpers. Purchasing an aerodynamic body kit will not only give the Mercedes a more modern appearance, but will also significantly reduce fuel consumption and increase the performance of the Mercedes car. It is advisable to purchase body kits only those that are suitable for a given make and model of car.

You can give the car a sporty character with the help of spoilers and chrome moldings. Metal door handles and stainless steel side mirrors with a chrome finish will help complete the look. Don't forget about the radiator grille. A small addition will be a muffler with a chrome tip.

The most recent changes to the car's exterior can be the rear and front headlights: it is advisable to choose crystal sets with turn signals.

VETERANS COUNCIL

In front of me is a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 200 with a carburetor engine and a four-speed manual transmission.
Price 180 thousand rubles, negotiable. The car, the color of “Soviet champagne,” became Russified forever in 1998. The years spent by Mercedes in our country are easily determined by the layers of paint: the sides and roof were refreshed more than once, due to various circumstances, with a spray gun. In any case, the magnetic thickness gauge showed a spread from a moderate 800 microns to an impressive 1326! Sometimes traces of rust are visible through the temporary rings. She crawled into the light in the area of the frames of the side windows and sills, but no through holes were visible. The radiator grille looks passable. In any case, I wouldn’t pay 2,750 rubles for a new Taiwanese one.

Interior improvement

The seats are the first to undergo changes. The Mercedes 124 initially has boring upholstery. You can either purchase ready-made covers or sew them yourself. The first option is a more profitable option - ready-made kits will cost less than their production. The only negative is that suitable colors are quite difficult to find in the markets, so if the owner wants something original, he will have to take care of purchasing the material and making the covers himself.

The next stage in tuning the interior is the instrument panel. Mercedes 124 manufactured in the 80s has a morally and technically outdated dashboard. The dashboard will have to be completely changed; To facilitate the driving process, you can install a display, a video recorder and a navigator, and a reliable multimedia system.

Tuning the car interior may include the following changes:

  1. Installing a new steering wheel.
  2. Placement of special pads on pedals.
  3. Installation of door sill trims. Such parts are either made of chrome or decorated with lighting.

Return of custom furniture

Making custom-made furniture requires additional time. Despite the fact that the order has certain individual characteristics, it will be subject to the general provisions of consumer legislation.

If pieces of furniture do not comply with the buyer’s technical specifications, the latter has the right to demand the return of the furniture ordered and a refund, as well as free elimination of defects.

In case of violation of the deadlines for fulfilling the relevant requirements, the seller will be liable in the form of payment of the corresponding penalties and fines.

Specifications

In almost all modifications of the Mercedes 124 car, the characteristics are excellent: the engines have a good reserve of power and durability. The latter allows you to slightly expand your horizons and increase the technical potential of the iron horse. The main work in this direction is the installation of a compressor: it improves the quality and performance of the air-fuel mixture. The advantage of this option is that the fuel system remains intact and does not require modifications.

The compressor allows you to increase the power of the car engine, improve its dynamics and controllability, while having a positive effect on the service life of the Mercedes.

The compressor is located in the form of two snails. Masters at service stations are able to carry out such tuning of 124 Mercedes in a few hours. In theory, the compressor can be replaced with a turbine, but such changes to the technical component of the car can take a long time. Improvements will require significant changes to the engine design and the selection of suitable software.

Complaint of poor quality furniture

To the head of individual entrepreneur M.A. Pentegov Gubakha, st. Suvorova 76-5, Lenin Avenue 53 from Tatyana Yuryevna Rusinova, living at the address: Kizel, st. _____________ tel. 8-____-___-____

Complaint of poor quality furniture

On July 30, 2013, in your store, I purchased disassembled furniture under a sales contract dated July 30, 2013, on credit. I pay my loan installments regularly. In paragraph 1.3. The purchase and sale agreement establishes a period for transfer of goods of 45 days. Two such periods have passed since the purchase, but the furniture has not been assembled.

The furniture was brought in the wrong size, and as a result, assemblers are still unable to assemble it. Constant rework and non-finishing. For nine days, because of your workers, I was left without gas and water in the kitchen, as everything was turned off. As a result, they appeared only nine days later. All this time I suffered because I could not cook food properly. I'm tired of being inconvenienced and suffering because of your incompetence and negligence.

Based on the above and in accordance with Article 18 of the Law of the Russian Federation “On the Protection of Consumer Rights,” I demand that goods of inadequate quality be accepted and I terminate the purchase and sale agreement. I demand a refund of the amount of money paid for the goods in accordance with Art. 22 of the Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights” deadlines.

I ask you to pay me a penalty (penalty) for delay under the sales contract of 0.5% of the amount paid for each day of delay, as well as moral damages in the amount of 10% of the total cost of the goods.

I remind you that on the basis of clause 6 of Art. 13 of the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights, when the court satisfies the consumer’s demands established by law, the court collects from the seller for failure to voluntarily satisfy the consumer’s demands a fine in the amount of 50% of the amount awarded by the court in favor of the consumer.

I reserve the right to file a claim in court for compensation for material losses associated with the payment of interest on the loan, including moral damage.

For information!

Article 23.1 of the PZPP Consequences of violation by the seller of the deadline for transferring pre-paid goods to the consumer.

In case of violation of the deadline established by the sales contract for the transfer of prepaid goods to the consumer, the seller pays him a penalty (penalty) for each day of delay in the amount of half a percent of the amount of prepayment for the goods.

The penalty (penalty) is collected from the day when, according to the purchase and sale agreement, the transfer of the goods to the consumer should have been carried out, until the day the goods are transferred to the consumer, or until the day the consumer’s demand for the return of the amount previously paid by him is satisfied.

Article 13 of the law on the protection of consumer rights states that losses caused to the consumer are subject to compensation in the full amount in excess of the penalty (penalty) established by law or contract.

Today the store clerk contacted my mother and asked for a personal meeting. Mom went to a meeting and set up a time for her after work at home to rub her nose into this marriage once again. The saleswoman whined, citing the fact that she would be fired, and let’s put pressure on the complaint, but my mother is a grated roll, she recently went through more than one trial, where there was a whole conspiracy of swindler bailiffs against her. Fortunately, my mother, with my help, resolved this situation, and the bailiffs were fired.

Chip tuning

It is worth paying special attention to this type of tuning. As a rule, it is carried out only for cars equipped with turbocharged diesel engines. In the case of gasoline engines, this procedure will not give the desired result: the increase in power will be minimal. Chip tuning cannot be carried out on your own: all work, especially system tuning, should be carried out only by professionals. In the absence of the necessary knowledge, you can make mistakes that will completely disable all systems and components of the car.

Reviews

Although the “one hundred twenty-four” is already an old car, it can still compete with many modern cars. Owners of “124s” leave mostly positive reviews about this brand, and many drivers like the car:

  • very high quality sound insulation;
  • comfortable seats;
  • spacious interior;
  • soft suspension that “swallows up” all road irregularities well;
  • good handling;
  • original design.

The Mercedes W124 is good to use as a “workhorse” - the price of the car is relatively low, the spacious trunk of the Mercedes allows you to transport a lot of different cargo. The “124th” is unpretentious - the gasoline engines on the “Geldings” easily “digest” Russian fuel. This German car with a gasoline engine also starts well in any frost, and diesel engines on the 124 are economical in fuel consumption.

The car also has disadvantages, primarily the susceptibility of body elements to corrosion. The sills, front fenders, bottoms of the doors, and the iron on the wheel arches rust on the 124th. Here the point is not even that the metal is weak, it’s just that corrosion appears over time - even the newest Mercedes W124 cars are at least 20 years old.

Non-original spare parts are inexpensive, but their quality is not always good. There are no problems in this regard with the original, but the prices for parts are steep, and repairs are expensive. With large engine volumes, the car consumes a lot of fuel, especially with a dynamic driving style.

The fuel system with mechanical fuel injection of the KE-Jetronic type also causes a lot of problems for car owners. Often the injection distributor itself fails, which is difficult to repair. Repairs turn out to be very expensive, and such parts are rarely found at car wrecking yards - they are sold out quickly.

Replacing rims

External tuning of a 124 Mercedes is not complete without replacing the original wheels with alloy ones. Wheels with low-profile tires are ideal for such a car. Experts recommend using such tires for their improved grip on the road surface at high speed, which makes the car more controllable and driving more comfortable.

You can always decorate car wheels with rolls - bolts, for which an individual head design is developed. This is not only an aesthetic, but also a practical solution: such fasteners do not allow attackers to remove the wheels from the car. The packages can only be unscrewed with a special key with a suitable head.

How to properly file a claim for poor quality furniture?

After receiving a complaint from the buyer, the seller is obliged to review the document and take the necessary measures within 10 days. Although there is no strict sample claim for it to have legal force, the document must be drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the Law and contain the following information:

  • Seller details;
  • Personal data of the author of the complaint and his contacts;
  • Description of the product indicating the cost of purchase;
  • Listing of defects, deficiencies or damages;
  • Requirements of the author of the document;
  • Personal signature of the buyer and date of filing the claim.

It is necessary to prepare 2 copies of the claim in advance. One copy is given to the seller for review, and the second remains with the sender. The defendant must put a mark on the buyer’s copy indicating that the document has been accepted for consideration. This mark will confirm an attempt to resolve the conflict out of court if the buyer has to file a claim in the future.

As for the text of the document, it should be as concise as possible, but contain all the useful information. You cannot use abbreviations, make mistakes or inaccuracies. The writing style is businesslike. The complaint should not contain emotional phrases, obscene language, insults or rudeness.

If all efforts are in vain and the seller refuses to comply with the requirements listed in the document, the buyer has the legal right to file a claim. To protect your interests during litigation, it is best to seek help from a specialist, providing him with an appropriate power of attorney.

Glass tuning

Glass modernization is carried out in two main directions:

  • Replacement of factory glass.
  • Installation of tinted analogues.

Each of the above options has both its pros and cons. Tinting must comply with the requirements of the traffic police, according to which the light transmittance of windshields should not be lower than 70%, respectively, their tinting should not be more than 30%. If the indicators are violated, the car owner faces a fine of one thousand rubles.

Separately, it is worth noting that the rules allow the use of a tint strip on the windshield, the width of which should not exceed 140 mm. This strip is placed at the top of the glass; its light transmittance must be at least 70%. The traffic police inspector does not have the right to fine the owner of the car if there is removable tinting on the windows, which is demonstrated upon the first request of the traffic inspector.

A modern option for tuning car windows is electrochromic auto-dimming, which is adjusted by pressing the corresponding key. Between two layers of such a film there are conductive crystals, which are polarized under voltage, causing the film to become transparent. The tinting effect is achieved by the same crystals without applying voltage to them.

Double glazing a car can provide a similar result. Such a change to the Mercedes requires the installation of two glasses, one of which is transparent, and the second is tinted. The alteration will require significant changes to the door design and the installation of additional lifts.

A heating film placed on the windshield allows you to cope with ice during the cold season - its structure includes current-carrying threads. Such a device is powered by the vehicle’s on-board system.

Complaint of poor quality furniture. My mother purchased a kitchen from the store of IP Pentegov M.A. located in the city of Gubakha, Lenin Avenue 53, Mr. Pentegov himself lives on the street. Suvorova 76-5. I bought a kitchen on credit, now I pay monthly, since payments cannot be stopped otherwise there will be penalties. According to the law, you first need to deal with the seller and get evidence that the furniture was returned. An act of acceptance of the transfer of furniture can serve as evidence. Only after this can you write an application to the bank to terminate the loan agreement and ask to return the money that the seller must return to the bank, the same money that mom paid monthly on the loan. To begin the process of returning the furniture and expressing her dissatisfaction, the mother used the phone, which did not help her. I, in turn, filed a claim and made a phone call with a warning. This was necessary for my words to reach the government. Pentegova, a phone number that was not given to me. After that, I sent a claim to their E_mail, but my mother wants to duplicate it and receive written confirmation. Well done mom, keep it up!

They made them askew, the doors are all out of whack, some don’t hang at all. Although the contract says only 45 days, in fact all 90 have already passed. Before filing a claim, I wrote a complaint to Rospotrebnadzor.

Radiator grille - one of the stages of tuning

Changing the “face” of the Mercedes involves installing a new radiator grille. The chrome and matte black grilles look most advantageous and respectable on the 124 model of the German car.

You can often find combined options: in them, a chrome edging frames a matte black center. For such tuning, it is advisable to use standard components from German cars; the size of the chrome grilles installed on cars of E and CE classes is suitable.

Matte black grilles can be purchased at automotive stores or tuning shops. However, you can make them yourself from standard chrome plated ones. The procedure is quite simple:

  1. The factory coating is removed from chrome radiator grilles using sandpaper.
  2. The surface is cleaned of dust and degreased.
  3. The grille is coated with several layers of acrylic primer.
  4. After the primer has completely dried, the surface is painted with matte black paint.

The completely dried grille is installed on the car, giving it an original and unique appearance, thereby completing the tuning of the 124 Mercedes.

Termination of the purchase and sale agreement

The consumer has the right to return a low-quality product for two reasons: if the style, size, format or technical features of the product do not suit him, or if the product does not correspond to the declared and actual quality. The reasons for returning furniture may be:

  • Damage to the packaging, integrity of the product, traces of its use before the purchase;
  • Detection of defects, hidden defects or damage during the entire warranty period;
  • The purchased product does not meet the stated characteristics.

The consumer also has the right to refuse the purchase or exchange it if the ordered furniture was delivered of a different type than that chosen. You can also return to the store goods that were made to order, but with differences from the previously approved project or with a delay in delivery.

Along with demands for replacement or refund of the cost of the product, the consumer has the right to request compensation from the store for all expenses incurred: transportation of the product, its repair, quality assessment. By the way, furniture that has become unusable due to poor quality repairs cannot be returned or exchanged.
