This has a particularly strong effect with the onset of frost when the coolant already sinks to the bottom of the container. The best option would be to install a pipe where the thermal element is located in the thermostat. In addition, you will need to close the hole in the water pump. This will allow you to control the incoming liquid when the heating system is turned on. After these changes, you can notice that even at elevated interior temperatures, the temperature in the engine will not exceed 78C, and this is optimal for its operation.

In production, it is often possible to replace, as defects are allowed when installing, the alternator belt, or, more simply, the timing belt. This makes the engine less powerful and also significantly reduces driving safety. In order to fix this problem, you need to replace the belt with a new one, and you can do the work yourself. The main thing is to avoid the common mistake of bending or twisting the belt, which significantly reduces its service life. At the beginning of work, before removing the generator belt, you need to remove all parts that prevent its dismantling. These are the steering pump, belt pulleys and air filter. After this procedure, the generator belt is removed, having previously unscrewed the two bolts that hold it, and the work is carried out in the reverse order when installing a new part. It is recommended to carry out the work only with knowledge of the matter, so as not to damage the crankshaft mechanism when removing the timing belt.

Tuning options

The design of the installed motor has a fairly large number of shortcomings, which determines the possibility of performing a wide variety of tuning. Motor modernization involves installing the following elements:

• Lightweight crankshaft. Previously created motors are characterized by the fact that they have a large number of non-operating losses associated with the large weight of the main elements. In the case of the crankshaft, we also note that the standard one reduces the piston stroke by several millimeters. By installing a new crankshaft, the piston stroke can be increased to 78 millimeters.
• Lightweight connecting rods. The less energy the engine spends to ensure the operation of the structure itself, the higher the efficiency indicator. Therefore, lightweight connecting rods also improve the efficiency of the installed motor.
• Lightweight piston rings are also available on sale. They have identical dimensions, but are made of a special alloy, the use of which reduces the weight of the structure.
• Lighter pistons are installed, which also reduce energy costs. Forged elements have a high resistance to high temperatures, that is, the structure does not expand. The diameter of the forged pistons should be 82.5 mm.
• With large-scale design changes, a new cylinder head can be installed. For VAZ, the version from the Kalina model is suitable. When installing a new cylinder block, all other structural elements will have to be modified.
• The new camshaft will also improve power and reduce fuel consumption.

Important! If all work is done well and the most suitable components are selected, the power rating can be increased to 100 horsepower. The maximum speed will be at around 180 km/h. However, we note the point that all other design elements must correspond to high power, that is, the motor must be in proper technical condition. Otherwise, the wear rate will increase significantly.
