How to turn off the cigarette lighter
A constantly running device can cause breakdown of on-board network components. To resolve this issue, it is recommended that you find ways to disable it. In the restyled Focus, this fuse is responsible not only for the cigarette lighter, but also for the rear 12-volt outlet. Therefore, if both the cigarette lighter and the rear socket do not work on a restyled Focus, the fuse is guaranteed to have blown. If only the cigarette lighter, the cause must be sought either in the circuit or in the cigarette lighter socket.
Restayl and dorestayl
In both versions of the second generation Focus, our fuse is located only in the interior mounting block, but is located and numbered according to the diagram differently :
- in pre-restyling cars it was assigned the number 39, and its face value is 20A ;
- the same 20-amp fuse in restyled cars is installed under number 109 in the same interior mounting block.

How to correctly connect the cigarette lighter directly to the battery via a fuse
An option involves performing an operation.
- Remove the dashboard. Usually the entire console and trunk lid are removed.
- Prepare 3 meters of cable with a cross-section of 4 squares and a piece of wire for connecting the ground. You will also need a remote fuse socket and a 20A fuse link.
- Through the technological hole, stretch the power core to the battery and solder it to the positive terminal.
- Stepping 30-40 cm away from the battery, make a break in the line and solder the fuse socket into it. For reliability, the contact should be placed under heat shrink.
- The negative core should be placed on the screw in any convenient place.
- In the passenger compartment, route the wires into the cigarette lighter mounting hole.
- The backlight lamp should be connected to the interior interior lighting circuit.
- After reassembling the console, connect the contacts to the wiring so that you can connect the cigarette lighter.
- Collect all contacts and install the cigarette lighter in its socket.

One day I was relaxing outside the city and noticed that one of the tires was starting to flatten a little. A friend I was vacationing with had a compressor in his car from the cigarette lighter. I used the compressor, pumped up the tire, turned off the compressor and gave it away. When I decided to use the cigarette lighter next time, it no longer worked for me.
It is logical to assume that the culprit for a non-functioning cigarette lighter is the fuse, at least it is better to start repairing this malfunction with it, if it is not the fault, then look at the cigarette lighter itself and the electrical circuit. To replace any fuse, we will need the fuses themselves, plastic “nippers” "in order to get the fuse (or pliers, I got them out with them, since there were no wire cutters)
The mounting block itself is located under the glove box at the feet of the front passenger. In order to get to it you need to remove the casing, this is done by hand without using tools, there are plastic clips that are simply pulled together and that’s it.
Next, the two plastic clips are unscrewed by hand and the mounting block of the cabin fuses itself is lowered down. As far as I understand, they are different for Restayl and Pre-Restayl. I have Pre-Restayl, but the year of manufacture of the car is 2008.
