How to properly remove an old car alarm from a car with your own hands?

Dismantling a car alarm (both working and faulty) is a complex technical task. Some specialized service stations refuse to do this work or agree, but at a higher price. The best option is to contact the installer of this particular alarm, but, as a rule, his contacts are lost or he has changed his address and phone number.

In this case, you often have to solve this problem yourself. How to completely remove the alarm from a car with your own hands and do it correctly - we’ll figure it out in the article. If you follow certain rules, you can achieve the desired result.

Basic principles

In order for the engine to operate properly after removing the security system elements, the following rules must be observed:

  • Removing the alarm should be carried out by a person who has knowledge of the operation of the vehicle’s electronic network and understands the features of installing and dismantling the system. Mistakes made can lead to incorrect operation of electronic devices.
  • When removing components of the anti-theft system, the driver must be prepared for unforeseen situations. The alarm may block the engine, making it impossible to start the car after removal. In some cases, a siren is triggered that does not respond to commands issued from the key fob. Such problems are eliminated in different ways. For example, the manufacturer includes a key in the anti-theft kit that is used to deactivate the secret device. You can turn off the alarm using a special button.

Safety precautions

Before removing the alarm from a VAZ-2110 or any other car, it is necessary to turn off the power to the on-board network. Failure to do this may result in voltage surges resulting in damage to electronic equipment.

Required tools and materials

Before removing the alarm from the car with your own hands, you need to prepare the following materials and tools:

  • screwdrivers with different attachments;
  • multimeter;
  • insulating tape;
  • side cutters.

Video “Disable the alarm yourself”

This video explains the reasons why the alarm key fob does not work and demonstrates how to disable the security system yourself (the author of the video is Yakov Toporkov).

Greetings, dear friends! We have a rather interesting topic under consideration, since we will talk about how to turn off the alarm in a car when the key fob does not respond to our commands.

Almost every driver's car has a security system. And it doesn’t matter whether the car was bought for cash, through the Trade In system or with a mortgage loan.

Some people use expensive solutions, others buy more budget tweeters. But let's be honest with ourselves. Even a simple alarm greatly reassures the car owner, since he knows that the car is protected. Therefore, you can find warning lights on a VAZ 2107 or VAZ 2110 just as often as on medium-sized and expensive foreign cars.

But sometimes it happens that the alarm starts screaming, and the commands from the key fob have no effect on it. For example, you stopped at a self-service car wash, and the car suddenly screamed furiously. And here it becomes necessary to disable the security system with your own hands. Today we’ll talk about how to do this.

How to clean it yourself?

Required Tools

Before you begin, you should prepare all the necessary tools and equipment. Since cutting out an alarm is not quick, we recommend finding a room.

The minimum required list of tools to perform removal is as follows:

  • a set of keys and socket heads with a ratchet (for dismantling interior elements);
  • Screwdriver Set;
  • pliers;
  • side cutters;
  • knife;
  • electrical tape and heat shrink;
  • multimeter or test lamp;
  • soldering iron with soldering accessories (solder and flux).

Additionally, special plastic spatulas are useful for removing interior elements without damaging them.

Step-by-step instruction

Before starting work, be sure to prepare an electrical diagram for your alarm model. It will be useful to have Internet access on hand to search for the necessary information that may be required during work (for example, information on how to properly remove a particular interior element)

  1. Turn off the ignition. Remove the negative terminal from the battery. Thus, you will de-energize the vehicle's on-board network.
  2. Find where all the elements of the security system are installed. The alarm control unit is most often located under the dashboard, or in the area of the fuse box. If you have difficulty finding it, then you can “track” it using the wire coming from the indicator LED. The LED is placed in a visible place (usually on the left windshield pillar in the cabin) and moving sequentially along the wire you will come to the block.

Using the harnesses connected to the block, you will find the remaining elements of the system. The color of the wire will tell you which specific element is at its opposite end. You will find information about this in the wiring diagram.

You will need to find the following components:

  • VALET button;
  • indicator light;
  • sensors;
  • blocking relay;
  • auto start transponder (if equipped);
  • antenna;
  • siren loudspeaker;
  • power harness with fuses.

The system may have additional elements, such as secret start buttons. In this case, it is also necessary to find them.

  1. Carefully dismantle the car alarm parts. They can be secured with plastic clamps, screws or glued.
  2. Sequentially disconnect elements from the block. At the same time, remove them with electrical wiring from the car. You don’t have to remove the wiring if this causes difficulty, but simply insulate it well. However, excess electrical wiring not only spoils the appearance, but also complicates further maintenance of the car and the installation of other alarm systems. In addition, this can negatively affect the operation of the car and lead to a short circuit.
  3. Disabling the blocking relay. This is the most difficult and responsible stage. If this function is implemented via a CAN bus, then it will be enough to simply disconnect the connector. If the relays are installed separately, it is not enough to simply remove them from the system. The relays open the wires of the standard wiring and after dismantling the relay you will need to restore it. A wiring diagram and a diagram of a specific relay will help with this. The best way to connect wires is soldering. However, if you do not have the necessary skills, you can simply twist the ends of the wires together and insulate them with heat shrink.
  1. Check the vehicle's functionality. Before putting all the interior elements in place, make sure that all the standard wiring is connected in place. And if you left any abnormal wiring, then it is insulated.

Connect the battery terminal. Try to start the engine, check the functionality of all car systems affected by the alarm:

  • turn signals;
  • horn;
  • parking lights;
  • central locking.
  1. Take it for a test drive.

If all car systems are operating normally, then install all interior elements in place. The procedure is completed.

Why the key fob doesn't work

If the alarm goes off and the key fob doesn't work, is it even possible to get inside the car and turn off the system? Yes, this is mostly possible for the car owner if he knows or remembers some of the nuances of his alarm system. That is, you shouldn’t panic right away, even if the control panel breaks down.

It wouldn’t hurt to figure out exactly why the key fob might fail.

What kind of UAZ Patriot tuning can you do yourself?

  • My battery is almost done. A trivial reason, which, nevertheless, needs to be checked first. Just change the battery. If everything is restored, congratulations;
  • Electrical system of the machine. The alarm is usually powered by a battery. Therefore, the alarm cannot be turned off using the key fob, since everything depends on the battery;
  • Interference. The key fob may receive interference, thereby affecting its functionality. This usually happens in large parking lots, or near sources of strong radio signals (their frequency is close to the frequency used on the key fob);
  • Mechanical failure. You can simply accidentally step on the remote control, drop it on a hard surface and break it. Usually the alarm system comes complete with 2 remote controls. Try using a spare one.

Even if the control panel is broken, you can gain access inside. But it is worth considering the algorithm of actions in each of the situations considered.

How to act

We simulated several situations. Now let's look at them in more detail.

  • Dead battery. If the key fob was working yesterday, it is unlikely that the batteries are completely dead. Open the case and check the condition of the batteries. They could have oxidized, so try cleaning the contacts. If this does not help, change the batteries;
  • Radio signal interference. Here you should try to bring the remote control as close as possible to the control unit of your security system. You yourself must know where it was installed during installation;
  • The battery is dead. There are no problems with the alarm here anymore. You can get into the car by opening the car with a regular key. But you have to think about how to start the car with a dead battery;
  • Key access missing. Some cars have such a system. I won't criticize her. But only in such a situation, the only way out is to contact the service where the alarm was installed for you.

I agree that all these methods are based on restoring the functionality of the key fob. But it also happens that the remote control does not function, and there is no point in relying on it. There are also recommendations here.

How to choose the right alarm

Of course, there are now millions of such options. And they will cost from five to seven thousand to infinity. But what is their price formed from? It all depends directly on the filling of the anti-theft agent. The more additional functions, the higher the price.

Standard security system

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, choose a universal option, which should include:

  • Siren;
  • Feedback to keychain;
  • And at least one additional option, for example, car tilt control.

A loud siren will awaken and attract the attention of the entire neighborhood. This option is interesting when the car is parked under the windows. No burglar will like this, and, most likely, if he cannot quickly (2-3 seconds) neutralize it, he will give up his bad idea

If we talk about feedback, then such a thing will attract your attention.

No burglar will like this, and, most likely, if he cannot quickly (2-3 seconds) neutralize it, he will give up his bad idea

If we talk about feedback, then such a thing will attract your attention.

Wherever you are (in a store, at home, at a party, at work) you will hear a signal and go to check the condition of your car. Well, the tilt control sensor simply won’t let you be left without wheels. When you try to remove them, you will hear a siren and receive a signal on the key fob. Thus, we buy a standard universal alarm system from a trusted manufacturer, which should include:

  • Control block;
  • Keyrings;
  • A bunch of wires;
  • Siren;
  • Small antenna for communication with the key fob;
  • Instructions;
  • And all kinds of other fillings, depending only on the number of additional options.

Do not under any circumstances throw away the instructions after installation. You may still need it to program new key fobs if the old ones fail.

Installation tools

If you decide to do everything yourself, figure out in advance what you will need, why, why and how to use it. In principle, the set of tools is quite standard, but it’s better to get acquainted with the multimeter in advance. This device is necessary to determine the necessary wires when connecting electrical equipment. There is no way to do without him. For our task, it is better to use the electronic version of the device. What else you need to collect:

  • Protective corrugated tubes;
  • Hammer;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Black resistant electrical tape;
  • Double sided tape;
  • Perhaps a set of additional wires.

An extra set of electrics can be useful if what is in the box is not enough, especially since you need to hide the central unit as far and deep as possible. The antenna is attached to double-sided tape, and insulating tape is needed to rewind the wire connections. All, absolutely all joints are wrapped with this tape. The color does not have to be black. It matches the original wiring.

Disabling without key fob

To turn off the sound of a blaring alarm, but do it without a remote control, the driver will need to find a way to get inside the car. It’s good if there is central locking and the remote control works fine.

On some cars, thanks to the alarm, the engine does not start. That is, it is unlikely that you will be able to leave the scene and head to the service center on your own. We need to look for alternative ideas. Now, when the car is quietly standing in the yard, you can watch the visual videos and study the features of turning off the alarm without a remote control if it suddenly breaks down. But it is better to have certain knowledge and skills in advance. To do this, you at least need to study the operating manual for your particular alarm.

There are a huge number of security systems. Take the same security system from Starline as an example. And their range is regularly expanding. This is good and bad at the same time. But that’s not about that now.

This is the situation. The alarm works and annoys everyone around you, including you. The key fob does not respond to any pressing. What to do?

There are several basic ways to disable the security system remotely. Let's take a closer look at them. Step by step it looks like this:

  • Transfer to maintenance mode. For this purpose, many systems have a special secret button, the location of which only the driver should know;
  • Translation algorithm. Each system has its own. Usually it is written in the operating manual of the alarm system itself, or of the car, if the security system comes from the factory;
  • Most often, the algorithm is based on sequentially turning on and off the ignition in parallel with pressing a secret button;
  • Pin. There are systems where the protection is even more complex. Then you need to use a special code that the driver must know and remember. Some manufacturers send a code as an SMS message to the client’s phone;
  • I can’t find the button, I don’t remember the PIN code. Sometimes it happens. Here you will have to open the hood and completely turn off the power supply. Try to disconnect the wires from the bell, that is, the source of the sound of your security system;
  • If this does not work, try removing the fuse. It is usually located near the alarm unit. On some cars there is no fuse, but a relay. It is more difficult to dismantle.

I cannot guarantee that all the methods described above will work. There are extremely sophisticated alarms designed to provide maximum protection. With them you won't even be able to open the hood.

Therefore, the objectively best solution in such a situation would be to contact the service department of the company that produces the alarm, or to those who installed it on your car.

Disconnection problem

You must clearly understand that there are no universal instructions for all alarms to disable them without a working key fob. Without knowing your personal code or not remembering the location of the secret button, you significantly complicate the solution to an already serious problem.

Try to study the operation of your security system in detail and remember the most important information. For example, in the case of Starline alarms, shutdown is carried out using the Valet button, while competitors’ shutdown algorithm may turn out to be completely different.

But I recommend choosing only reliable and proven systems. These include:

  • Starline;
  • Alligator;
  • Tomahawk;
  • Panther;
  • Magikar;
  • Sherkhan;
  • Sheriff, etc.

If you are faced with a situation where you cannot turn off the alarm yourself, and you have no experience in such matters, do not proceed by trial and error. This is especially true for manipulations in the engine compartment. By pulling out the wrong cable or touching some important components, you yourself can provoke a major overhaul of the motor. It's not worth the risk. It's better to contact specialists.

Disabling the alarm

There may be situations when it is necessary to turn off the alarm without using the key fob. For example, if it breaks down or the batteries run out. In this case, it is impossible to get into the car because the doors are locked and the system does not allow the engine to start.

To turn off the car alarm you need to perform a number of steps

First of all, you should turn off the speaker so that the signal does not attract the attention of others. If there is no key to the security system, just disconnect the corresponding contact

Checking the control key fob

The key fob may freeze if the battery loses charge. In this case, failures may occur when synchronizing the engine start, and an emergency shutdown of the security system will be required. This involves unlocking the system and then starting the engine, and possibly dismantling the alarm system.

You can use a secret button, you just need to know the place where it is located. The instructions that come with the alarm may provide advice on how to turn it off in an emergency and how to remove the immobilizer. As a last resort, you can contact the service center.

Valet service button

In order to use the secret button, you need to do the following:

  • turn on the ignition;
  • the button must be pressed a certain number of times, usually it corresponds to a PIN code (usually it varies from 1 to 4);
  • turn off the ignition.

After completing the steps, you need to check the fuse and power supply, and then start the engine again. If the alarm continues to sound, you need to remove the negative terminal of the battery and turn off the power supply to the car completely.

Possible causes of malfunction

There are many reasons why the alarm system is faulty. However, you must definitely understand them in order to know how to turn off the alarm on your car. Reasons include:

  • Car battery discharge
    .
    In this case, all systems of the machine are de-energized, including the alarm system. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the battery charge level, especially in winter
    . If the battery is low, you can open the doors simply with the key. But when you open the door, the alarm will go off. Therefore, we recommend that you open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. To turn off the alarm and start the engine, you can try “lighting” it from another car.
  • Damage to the key fob
    (control panel).
    This rarely happens, but it's still worth checking. This can happen due to the key fob falling, a strong impact, getting wet, or for externally unknown reasons (failure of microcircuit elements). The simplest failure in this case is battery discharge
    . It is recommended to avoid this and promptly change the battery in the remote control. If you have a key fob with one-way communication, then to diagnose the battery, just press the button and see if the signal light lights up. If this does not happen, the battery needs to be replaced. If you use a key fob with two-way communication, then on its display you will see a battery charge indicator. If you have a spare key fob, try using it.

Presence of radio interference. This is especially true for megacities and places with large concentrations of cars and various electronics. The fact is that modern electronic devices are sources of radio waves, which under certain conditions can interfere and jam each other’s signals. This also applies to the signals emitted by alarm key fobs. For example, if next to your car there is a car with a faulty alarm system that emits its own signal, then there are times when it interrupts the impulses sent by the “native” key fob. To resolve this, try moving closer to the alarm control unit and activating the key fob there.

To turn off the alarm without using a key fob, one of two methods is used - emergency shutdown and disarming coding. But in any case, for this you need to know where the Valet button is located, which allows you to switch the alarm to service mode

.

You can read about where the Valet button is located in your car in the manual or ask the specialists who install the alarm system. Typically, alarm installers place them near the fuse box, or under the front dashboard. If you do not know where the button is located, then focus on the location of the alarm LED indicator

. If it is installed in the front left side of the cabin, then the button will be there.

Emergency shutdown

In this case, in order to turn off the standard alarm, you must know the sequence of actions to be performed. As a rule, this is a certain sequence of turning the ignition on and off and several clicks on the mentioned secret Valet button. In each individual case this will be its own combination. While you are looking for the secret button and remembering the PIN code, so as not to irritate everyone around you with the howling of your car, you can at least remove the terminal from the battery. The alarm will stop “yelling” and you, in a calm environment, will decide on your actions - either remove the battery and slightly deform it, or resort to unlocking by entering a code. But I advise you to call the alarm installation center (depending on what kind of alarm you have installed) and they will explain to you the exact procedure for turning off the alarm.

Coded shutdown

The definition of “coded shutdown” comes from an analogue of a PIN code, which has from 2 to 4 digits, which are known only to the owner of the car. The procedure goes something like this:

  • Turn on the ignition.
  • Press the “Jack” button the number of times that corresponds to the first digit of the code.
  • Turn off the ignition.
  • Next, steps 1 - 3 are repeated for all numbers that are in the code. This will unlock the system.

Autorun installation

You also need to connect, configure and check autorun, which locks the system in case of unauthorized access:

  • Autostart is connected and checked only after all wires and systems have been installed.
  • Check the operation of the motor. If you have an automatic transmission, place the lever in Park, remotely start the engine and apply the brake - if you did everything correctly, the engine should stop immediately. If you have a manual transmission, put the lever in neutral, start the engine remotely, and then remove the car's handbrake - if you did everything correctly, the engine should stall immediately.
  • You should also check the operation of the motor when opening the trunk. To do this, open the hood, set the gearbox to the “park” position, and then remotely start the engine - if installed and configured correctly, the engine should stall immediately.

How to completely deactivate a security system

In a standard situation, deactivation occurs by pressing the desired key on the key fob. If lost, in many cases a spare one is used, but there are also cases when there is simply no spare key fob. Let's look at how you can completely turn off the alarm on your car:

  • by pressing the Valet button;
  • entering a PIN code;
  • by pressing the emergency shutdown button;
  • blackout.

If you need to disable the alarm, you should re-read the package insert you received when purchasing the car. As a rule, it always contains all the necessary measures to disable the alarm system.

Possible consequences of removing the alarm and their solutions

If the security system is disabled incorrectly, the following problems may occur:

  1. Damage to cables or violation of the integrity of power lines: such conductors are replaced, it is better not to restore them. If only a section of the line is damaged, it can be replaced separately. In case of insulation failure, the cable is wrapped with electrical tape.
  2. Malfunctions of electronic devices and equipment. The method for fixing the problem depends on the nature of the breakdown. For example, minor faults can be eliminated by replacing damaged contacts. If the breakdown is critical and, for example, the control unit does not work and is not reflashed, the equipment is completely changed.
  3. Inaccurate dismantling may result in damage to the decorative upholstery.
  4. Improperly disabling the immobilizer can cause the engine to lock.
  5. Damage to the alarm control module. A malfunction of the main unit often makes it impossible to use the security system. Some problems can be resolved by flashing the device or resoldering bad contacts.
  6. Mistakes made during dismantling may cause battery malfunction. The battery may subsequently discharge faster and its internal plates will begin to deteriorate. As a result, the battery will wear out quickly.

Unaccounted for features and unintended consequences

Above we discussed how to disconnect two connectors: the main one and the 6-pin one, which is responsible for the behavior of the central locking system. You can safely disconnect the third terminal block to which power is supplied.

This is where the food comes in

Typically, this terminal block is equipped with contacts designed for high current. By doing as said, your actions will not cause the starter to start, even if autostart was used.

Sometimes the power connector cannot be disconnected by hand (special tools are needed). This must be remembered.

It seems that what remains to be considered is what to do with the remaining connectors. They are intended for systems and sensors connected directly to the main module (for standard equipment of the signaling system itself). But by disconnecting even a 2-pin terminal block, you will trigger an alarm message to be sent via GSM.

When installing a security alarm, always do the following:

  1. Check the connection in each of the connectors, especially in the connectors of external sensors;
  2. By calling the security service, they activate the message reception mode.

Obviously, when dismantling is performed, a corresponding request is sent.

Scheme of operation of the signaling system with GSM

However, to complete the deactivation procedure, you need a code known only to the owner.

Do not touch the connectors with your hands until the deactivation procedure is completed.

A false call can also be caused by a malfunction of the security systems. Therefore, it is not an offense. But still, an alarm with a GSM module cannot be disconnected from any systems or sensors unless deactivation has actually been performed. Otherwise, your actions will provoke the following: the owner will have to bear unforeseen expenses.

How to turn off the alarm without a key fob

When faced with problems in the operation of alarm systems, many drivers immediately contact the service center. However, devices can be turned off manually. To do this, you need to understand the principle of their operation, determine the placement of working elements and study the instructions for deactivation.

Disabling the alarm in the absence of a key fob is carried out by two main methods:

  • Emergency.
  • Coding.

But regardless of the option used, the driver must know where the Valet button is and what it does.

Drivers themselves can deactivate the car alarm using the instructions.

Jack button

The easiest way to turn off the alarm siren is to activate the “Valet” service mode. For this, a secret button is used, which is placed near the fuses or under the torpedo. When installing the system yourself, it will not be difficult to determine where this element is located. The sequence of actions when disabling a car alarm using the “Jack” command is indicated in the alarm operating instructions. If it does not turn off, there may be a hardware failure and you will need to contact service.

Having found the desired button, you should enter the code value using the following methods:

  1. Turn the ignition key, press the button once and turn it off.
  2. Turn the ignition key, press the button four times and turn off the ignition.

Before carrying out such procedures, you must carefully read the instructions for entering the “PIN code”, especially if we are talking about an old alarm system for a VAZ 2114, Deo Lanos car or a modernized device with GSM support.

After completing these steps, all that remains is to start the car and connect the sound indicator.

The second method involves diagnosing the fuse, which is located under the hood or near the central unit. If there is no positive result, you will need to contact a service center for help or call a mechanic.

Emergency shutdown

In order for the engine set to alarm to start, you will need to disable the standard system using the emergency method. To do this, you need to find the emergency button to turn off the alarm.

Before searching for this secret button and trying to remember the PIN code, you need to remove the terminal from the battery. In this case, the system will stop beeping and you will have time to buy a new battery or unlock the alarm.

Similar instructions are suitable for all Centurion models.

How to disconnect from power

To disconnect the car alarm from the power supply, just remove the battery from its unit. If you don't know where it is, you can remove the terminal from the car's battery.

In a coded way

To turn off the alarm using a coded method, you need to enter a PIN code, which consists of 2-4 digits specified by the owner of the car. The process of removing protection itself consists of the following actions:

  1. Turning on the ignition system.
  2. Pressing the secret button several times - the number of presses is determined by the first digit of the code value.
  3. Turn off the ignition.
  4. At the last stage, you need to repeat these points for the remaining numbers. If the PIN code is successfully entered, the system will be unlocked.

But since these instructions are not universal, you must carefully study the package insert for your machine. It will describe in detail all stages of shutdown.

How to disable outdated StarLine models without a key fob

Valet button

Possible locations of the service button

One of the places where a secret button may be located

Let's start with one of the oldest alarm systems still found on cars - StarLine Twage A1-A4. Despite the different functionality, the commonality of the software and hardware platform makes the emergency shutdown method the same across the entire generation (true for all subsequent series).

This series has two emergency shutdown options, selectable in the settings menu. In the first case, it is possible to deactivate the alarm without entering a secret code:

  1. Open the door with the key.
  2. Within 20 seconds of this, turn on the ignition and press the Valet button three times.
  3. Turn off the ignition.

This method does not provide a sufficient level of security: since to turn on the ignition, the thief only needs to use the jumper between the tires of the mounting block, he only has to find the service button to deactivate the alarm.

Therefore, a two-digit code shutdown algorithm is provided:

  1. Open the door.
  2. Within 20 seconds, turn on the ignition and press the Valet button the number of times equal to the first digit of the code.
  3. Turn the ignition off and on again.
  4. Enter the second digit of the code using the Valet button.
  5. Turn off the ignition.

Video: Alarm. How to DISARM a Starline alarm using the Valet button

How to set the code itself

By default, it is set as 11. To install a new one, when the car is disarmed and the ignition is turned off, press the Valet button 4 times, then turn on the ignition. Next, you need to press Valet once, then enter the first digit of the code from the main key fob, press the service button again once and then enter the second digit. You can set numbers from 1 to 4, while numbers from 1 to 3 are set by short pressing the corresponding buttons on the key fob, and 4 by a long and then short press on button 1.

Now all that remains is to activate disarming using the PIN code. With the ignition off, press the Valet button five times, then, after turning on the ignition, use it to enter the number of the programmable function: in this case, we need function 5, that is, the service button is pressed for a long time once. Next, reprogram function 5 by pressing any key fob button except the first one - this will enable emergency disarming using a PIN code. After this, turn off the ignition to save the settings.

On alarm systems of subsequent releases (Twage B6, A61 Dialog, and so on) there are also two options for disabling the alarm: unlocking without a PIN code is performed in exactly the same way as removal using a PIN code. The only difference is that in these alarms the PIN code has from one to three characters, and the numbers take a value from 1 to 6. That is, if in previous alarms there were only 16 PIN code options, here there are already 258.

To select the type of PIN code, program the desired value of function 9. Its factory value is 1, that is, the PIN code is disabled. By selecting values from 2 to 4, we will activate, respectively, a one-digit to three-digit PIN code, and the “PIN CODE” icon will light up on the key fob screen.

The code numbers are entered sequentially according to the same principle as in the previously described alarms. Otherwise, only numbers are set: from 1 to 3 - by short pressing the corresponding key fob button, from 4 to 6 - by long and short pressing of buttons from 1 to 3.

A further development of these systems was the Starline A92 Dialog alarm system and its classmates. Here, by default, a single-digit pin code “3” is set, but the user has the opportunity to choose between one-, two- and three-digit codes, the range of changes in numbers is from 1 to 6. The emergency alarm shutdown algorithm has not changed.

How to emergency unlock

If any unusual situations arise, an emergency disarming must be carried out immediately. For this, there is a separate procedure that every car owner should know.

Step-by-step instructions to remove a car alarm:

Emergency shutdown begins by opening the vehicle door (using a key). The alarm will go into alarm mode and start emitting loud sounds and bright light signals. You need to insert the key as quickly as possible and activate the ignition

In this case, it is important not to start the engine, since all the work will need to be done again. After that, look for the “Valet” button. At the request of the vehicle owner, it is located in the glove compartment, under the steering wheel or under the front panel. Press the key and hold it for 2 seconds. If everything is done according to the instructions, the headlights will blink once and the security system will exit emergency mode. Then press “Valet” again and hold it for 5 s. As a result of this action, the device will emit 2 beeps

In addition, the headlights will turn on and off twice, notifying the car owner about the emergency shutdown of the alarm.

Disabling different types of alarms

The main ways to disable the alarm were previously mentioned, but it is worth considering the fact that each model may have some differences from the standard procedure and rules that must be followed. Let's look at an example of several basic models of protective systems.

Table. How to turn off car alarms with your own hands.

Brand name, photoInstructions
"Cenmax"To deactivate the protective system, you need to turn on the ignition, quickly press the special service button 4 times and turn off the ignition. Before you start, you need to find out where exactly the “Jack” button is located.
"Jaguar"To turn off the alarm, you need to enter the car in the standard way, that is, using the key. The alarm should go off automatically. Then turn on the ignition, press the service button three times and turn off the ignition. The system allows no more than 20 seconds for the entire procedure, so you need to hurry. Otherwise, the procedure will need to be performed again.
"Centurion"The procedure for turning off the alarm is no different from the previous one (turn on the ignition, press the button and turn off the ignition). The only difference is that you need to click 4 times, and the duration of the procedure should not exceed 10 seconds.
"Tomahawk"There are many models produced under this brand, so we will look at the shutdown instructions using the RL950LE model as an example. To do this, you need to open the driver's door with the key, ignoring the security system that was activated. Then start the engine and press the service button 4 times, then turn off the ignition.
"Alligator"Turn on the ignition and press the service button only 1 time. After this, the ignition must be turned off. This will deactivate the security system and remove all car locks. You must first remove the terminals from the battery.

Note! When purchasing a used vehicle, it is recommended to check with the owner exactly where the service button is located. With its help, you can turn off the alarm if necessary, start the engine and safely get to the nearest service station.

Possible consequences of deletion

After completing the work poorly, the following problems may arise:

Short circuits and blown fuses. Most likely this occurs either due to incorrect restoration of the wiring, or due to poor-quality insulation of the abandoned alarm wiring.

The engine does not start. Most often this happens if the system had an autorun function. Without restoring the standard wiring, but simply removing the elements responsible for autostart, the signal to start the engine will physically not be able to reach its destination. Some installers also use their own engine locking methods and these can be difficult to detect.

Malfunction of individual vehicle systems. Inoperability of the door lock drive, horn, and lighting equipment is most often caused by improper restoration of the wiring.

How to turn off the alarm on a VAZ 2107

In this article, auto electrician Alexey Molotov answers the question “How to turn off the alarm on a VAZ 2107?”

Good day to all! I have a seven with a signaling system, I already bought one. There are two buttons on the key fob: one unlocks the doors, the second seems to block the engine. Today a problem happened: either I accidentally pressed something, or something else. But in the end, the starter didn’t even turn, and an incomprehensible rustling noise came from the speakers when trying to start it. From time to time the whitefish squealed again. Started from the pushrod, thank God I made it home. I don't understand this. What was it? Signaling glitch, as a result of which it blocked the engine?

And the main question is: do you think it’s possible to turn it off altogether? It still only opens/closes the front doors, I have to close the rear doors manually. Or should I install central locking later? It is expensive?

PS as you can see, I don’t really understand what happened and what I should do now and what’s best, I want to know the opinions of others. Thank you!

Most likely, the second one does not block. Blocking should be a little more difficult. Like: two at the same time and hold for more than a second. Or something like that. But before you try to press, you need to find a manual for the signaling and learn how to remove the blockage. The blocking cannot be removed just like that, you need to dance with a tambourine.

And also: the previous owner could have added other secrets. And what is there with what and why - we need to figure it out.

Maybe we can identify the alarm by the key fob (link) Hello.

Best regards, Park.

Re: if it started from the pushrod, then the signaling most likely has nothing to do with it. How is the battery doing?

I installed actuators on the rear doors - it cost about less than 500 rubles. Two reinforced actuators, 4 meters of two-wire wire (in my case, the signaling changed polarity when opening/closing - accordingly, actuators for 2 wires), 2 short rubber corrugated hoses. To route the wire, I had to drill through the B pillars and the ends of the rear doors. Between the doors and the pillar I laid the wires in a rubber corrugation. I connected the actuators parallel to the front doors. It took me about 3 hours to do everything without beer
