How to quickly change
No tools are required to replace Hook brushes.
What's the best way to buy
1. | For those who have unlimited funds: we go to the auto repair center of an official Daewoo dealer in your city, where they will select and install standard brush models specifically for your car. | ||
2. | For those who don’t like to go shopping: knowing the 3 main parameters of a brush, you can easily order them in any specialized online store. | 3. | For those who check everything on the spot by eye: we go to a car shop or a gas station, which, among other things, has an assortment of wipers and convenient parking, remove the brush and go to choose a brush similar in length and fastening. |
If possible, check the selected brushes to ensure they meet Daewoo specifications for your vehicle before purchasing.
When does the brush need to be replaced?
To check and in all other cases, pay attention to the wear indicator - sticker on the brush:
, which usually turns bright yellow if its service life has come to an end. Full instructions.
• Do not force the brushes to work “dry”, especially if the glass is heavily soiled or covered with a layer of ice.
• To ensure that your brushes last longer and do not lose their elasticity, clean your brushes from dirt once a season: wash them in warm water and soap.
• If the glass or brush strips become oily, they should be degreased with a 10-20% soda solution and rinsed thoroughly with warm water. Do not use gasoline or thinner for this, as this will corrode the rubber of the brushes.
• You can lubricate the hinges of frame models with compounds such as WD-40, which effectively displace moisture and eliminate squeaks.
• In winter, do not turn on the windshield wiper until the windshield has warmed up, as this can seriously damage the blades.
• Some cars have a heated wiper parking area; for others, a winter wiper mode has been created, when they are located higher in the heater operating area. Please refer to your vehicle's manual to enable this option.
• It’s okay if the length of the wipers is a little longer or shorter than the standard one. It is important that during operation the new blades do not make any extraneous sounds and do not hit the edges of the windshield. Many people experiment with different sizes of wipers, installing a larger one on the driver's side and a smaller one on the passenger's side.
• Do not break the ice by hitting the glass with your cheeks. This may damage the wiper. For example, very often in such a situation the plastic plugs of frameless brushes break, since the plastic becomes brittle in the cold.

- The windshield wipers clang against the frill (decorative insert)

Keeping your windshield wiper blades in perfect condition is essential for good visibility.
To avoid deformation of the brushes, clean them regularly with glass cleaner. If the brushes are heavily soiled, for example by insect debris, clean them with a sponge or clean cloth.
Replace your windshield wiper blades once or twice a year.
In frosty conditions, before each time you turn on the windshield wipers for the first time during your trip, check to see if the blades are frozen to the glass.
When washing your car automatically, wax particles may get on the windshield. To remove them, add a glass cleaner that has the property of dissolving wax to the windshield washer reservoir.
Filling the fluid reservoir with a glass cleaner with solvent-resolving properties significantly improves the performance of the windshield wipers. Grease-dissolving cleaners do not clean glass completely.
Damaged brushes, which can cause poor glass cleaning, should be replaced.

The process of replacing the windshield wiper trapezoid of Daewoo Matiz
- We stop and turn off the car.
- Remove the rubber plugs where the wipers connect to the trapezoid. The plugs can be pryed off with a small flathead screwdriver.
- We unscrew the nuts that secure the wipers to the trapezoid. The master will need a 12mm head.
- We remove the wipers . Each of the Daewoo Matiz wipers is first bent away from the windshield and then removed from the engagement of the trapezoid pin.
- When the wipers are dismantled, we begin to remove the frill. There are 5 plugs on the front side of the decorative panel. Remove the plugs using a small flathead screwdriver.
- We unscrew the screws that secure the frill. You need a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Open the hood and release the lower part of the frill from the clamps . At the bottom, the decorative panel is fixed in 4 places.
- 2 clips hold the frill at the edges. The clips are simply removed .
- 2 self-tapping screws hold the frill in the center. We unscrew the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
- We close the hood (there is no need to close it completely) and simply remove the frill . Please note that hose . Don't break the hose .
- Unscrew the nuts on the trapezoid axes of the windshield wipers. Each axle is held in place by 3 nuts. You will need a 10mm head.
- The moving part of the trapezoid is fixed on the runner of the electric motor. Fixation is carried out using a plastic clip. It just needs to be removed from the shaft .
- Removing the windshield wiper trapezoid.
- We put a new trapezoid in place of the worn one.
- Please note that the clip contains lubricant . That's how it should be. This is a special lubricant that takes care of the plastic clip for a very long time.
- We fix the trapezoid axes with nuts.
- We snap the clip onto the slider of the Daewoo Matiz electric motor. A little grease will come out of the clip, this is normal.
- We immediately check how the windshield wiper trapezoid works. We just turn on the wipers without blades.
- If the trapezoid works normally, then we assemble the unit in the reverse order. Pay attention to the length of each windshield wiper. The left windshield wiper, which is opposite the driver, is longer than the right one.
- Before turning on the wipers, you simply need to lower the blades to the very base (to the zero position).
Windshield wiper blades for Lada Kalina 2004-2018: sizes and articles - AutoExpert
Windshield wipers are important elements in any car. They, by clearing the windshield of dirt, enable the driver to view the roadway in bad weather. If these elements are faulty in bad weather, then driving such a car will pose a danger not only to the person in the car, but also to all other road users.
In the video, replacing wiper blades with frameless ones.
Size of wipers on Lada Kalina
The following are standard for Lada Kalina:
- Driver's side brush – 60 cm.
- Passenger side brush – 40 cm.
Editorial Kalina kindly agreed to pose to show the size of the wipers
Alternative brush sizes
Some Kalinovods from our community change the passenger wiper blade to a 43 cm size. We tried it, end to end. But, you can adjust the trapezoid, and it will be better. But we didn't like it!
Replacing wiper blades (+ video)
The blades are removed and the lock on the end of the windshield wiper is unfastened. Next, the rubber bands that are mounted on the frame are removed. Work must be done carefully. Next, new brushes are installed. If necessary, they are trimmed. You need to use scissors for this. The new rubber bands are tightly attached to the windshield wiper. Here you may need to straighten the fasteners or push the brushes under them. In the first option, you can accidentally damage the terminals, and in the second, you can fiddle with the work for a long time. Here everyone should choose the most convenient method for themselves.
What was used when replacing the Daewoo Matiz windshield wiper trapezoid
- Set of keys (heads 10 and 12)
- Screwdriver Set
A new windshield wiper trapezoid will also be needed. Many of the craftsmen prefer to change the windshield wipers themselves, that is, the arms with the brushes.
Additional Information
Problematic windshield wipers always have noticeable play. It can get to the point where the levers “walk” by 20-30% of the working stroke . The main reason for the increased play is the wear of the plastic clip, with the help of which the movable part of the trapezoid is connected to the runner of the electric motor.
Of course, we should not forget about the general wear and tear of the trapezoid. Over time, the connections of the rubbing pairs become loose, which further increases the backlash of the windshield wipers .
It is worth noting that the quality of the view of the windshield can also be affected by the cabin filter . If the filter element is clogged, the windows in the cabin will often sweat . For this reason, if the wipers are being serviced, it is quite reasonable to carry out a cabin filtration service.
the air duct filter also needs to be replaced . a thematic review on replacing the filter element in the air duct .
Daewoo Matiz good bug › Logbook › Mote's tail. Rear wiper, epic.
My configuration did not have a rear wiper, but the Matiz needs one.
I've been wanting to install it for a long time. I changed the windshield wiper switch lever when I added intermittent operation of the front wipers to my Mota, so the question came down to several spare parts: -windshield wiper motor with bracket and sealing rubber 1100 RUR (used) -windshield wiper arm with washer nozzle 700 RUR new -windshield wiper blade - was) -cambric (hose), 5 meters...100 rubles -windshield washer motor 230 rubles new -wires, 6 meters. There were. So let's begin. I looked up how to install the motor in the domovoij manual at this link, so I won’t describe this procedure again.
After this we stretch the hose. I couldn’t get the hose to go over the top, no matter how hard I tried. I let it go downstairs, along with a bundle of wires. I was a little lucky with the wiring, because when laying the Shumka in April 14, I threw 4 wires under the Shumka, just for such cases)
Please note that both wires to the motor connector are positive! One of them is constantly powered after the ignition is turned on. The other is only when you turn on the windshield wiper handle. Which one is which I determined by selection method). So, the mechanism is installed, the wires are routed into the trunk. Let's move on to the front. Remove the bumper and drain the washer fluid from the reservoir. We make a hole for the second motor in the tank. Install the second motor, connect the hose and another prepared wire. We also bring the wire out into the interior.
Everything is assembled, all that remains is to connect it all. We remove the steering column trim in the cabin. Next: Wires from the washer - one to ground, the other to the green wire with a yellow stripe of the wiper switch connector.
The wires from the wiper motor are one to the ignition switch wire, red with a yellow stripe; +12V appears on it when the ignition is turned on.
You need to hang a fuse on this circuit near the ignition switch, enough for 10A. Another wire, to the white wire of the wiper switch connector.
