From game to reality: tuning Nissan 350Z
Need for Speed: from game to reality
One day Anton realized that he had actually liked cars since early childhood.
He still spoke poorly when his father taught him to draw wheels not square, but round, but in attempts to master this skill, little Anton wore out an album per evening and a pack of felt-tip pens per week. As time passed, paper cars gave way to plastic ones, then iron ones, then radio-controlled ones... Of course, Anton then discovered the world of computer games in the form of TopGear 2 on SegaMD 2, and the first serious games were Need for Speed, SegaRally and Carmageddon. And it was NFS that literally captured his consciousness: a supercar for personal use, racing through the city in traffic... Anton began to actively pay attention to interesting cars - on his usual route from home to the metro, he often saw a red second-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse and thought: “The body is just a bomb." Time passed. Upon reaching the age of 18, Anton received his license without any problems - his training in his father’s VAZ-2106 had an effect. But he didn’t have his own car yet... The driver’s journey began later, when, having served faithfully and a little tired, Anton’s father’s Saab 9000 came into use, and his older brother helped bring it into shape.
Soon after parting with Saab and adding some money, Anton was still able to realize his childhood dream - to buy an atmospheric Eclipse 2G with mechanics. Then it seemed that it was a real “gun”: the tachometer needle spun up to 7,000 rpm, the appearance was simply perfect, the interior was original, and the way it steered... Not a car, but a fairy tale! And then the first Fast and the Furious came out with the green Eclipse of Brian O'Conner in the title role - in a wild body kit, with a spoiler, spectacular wheels and... a turbine. Anton didn’t want to change his car, but after watching “The Fast and the Furious,” he realized the main thing: a car is a construction kit that you can assemble yourself.
Back then, in my youth, there was not yet enough money for serious tuning, but I managed to add something to the image of the car. Wheels, front bumper, headlights with lenses, red calipers, underbody lighting, a huge muffler “can” - all the harsh styling classics were used. Further, after reading reviews on boosting a naturally aspirated engine, Anton decided to purchase a turbocharged car - 147 horsepower under the hood was no longer enough. Having sold “and the Eclipse is also a second generation, with a manual transmission, a sunroof, a carbon hood and Sparco buckets. However, having overestimated his knowledge and strength and disassembled the car after the gearbox broke down, Anton sold it disassembled to a clubmate.
Warmer...hot!
By this time, NFS Underground 2 had already been released, the plot of which begins with... Nissan 350Z. Having assessed the car, Anton began to study advertisements on the Internet for the sale of “zockets”, but then things did not go further than that. Then “Fast and Furious 3” came out - and there the “King of Drift” again had a 350Z – wide, with puffy wings. Thus, the “effect of the 25th frame” gradually worked, and a few years later, when the question of buying a second car arose in the family, fate decreed that his beloved wife reminded Anton of the dream of his youth. “Today I saw such a cool car - Nissan 350Z!” It was a sign.
I wanted to find a black car and an automatic one. “For drifting – and with automatic transmission?! Loser!" - is heard in the hall. But there is no mistake here: Anton was looking for a car with an automatic transmission - he had already lost the desire to “pull the handle”, he just wanted to drive around the city for his own pleasure.
Contrary to what usually happens, a suitable specimen was found quite quickly. True, according to the canons, it was slightly out of shape: there were no pads, almost the entire suspension was dead, the interior was worn out, and the body was slightly tattered. But are these little things the most important thing in the legendary Japanese sports car?

When the emotions subsided a little, the owner began to take a closer look at his new car. At that time, I wanted to add just a few touches to the insanely cool body design: Anton swapped the stock 17-inch wheels for “eighteen-inch” Work compound wheels with a large shelf, then swapped the rear lights for restyled LED ones, hung a polyurethane lip on the front bumper and painted the handles in black. All that was left to do was enjoy the car. Well, how to enjoy...

“I’ll say a few words about a car that maybe someone is planning to buy. Keep in mind that in the model range before 2006, interior ergonomics tend to zero. There isn't even a glove compartment. Yes, you heard right - there is no glove compartment. Instead, there is an extremely poor transforming cup holder, which folds into three deaths and on its last legs, at best, once in a hundred will clumsily depict something similar to a cup holder. The emergency signal is located behind your elbow. Wanted to blink at someone as a sign of gratitude? No, look at the road, you still won’t find the emergency button right away! There are no niches between the seats to put your phone, documents or anything else. There is nothing like that in the doors either - at best, you can put a pack of paper napkins in a small pocket in the door, which you will use to wipe away your tears and be sad, lamenting the wretchedness of the pre-restyling interior. This car is chosen not with the head, but with the heart.”

Articles / Tuning Tuning Nissan 350Z: 420 horsepower for a V6 Artem came across this car quite by accident. It's not that he's never seen a 350Z before and 12 years after its launch, he first met it in 2014 - of course not... 10583 0 12 07/23/2015
After some time, having absolutely no experience driving a rear-wheel drive car, but believing in himself, in one of the long turns on the city streets, Anton “went on the attack” and collected all the shelves on the wheels with a high curb, and at the same time plowed a couple of meters of lawn with the exhaust. At the beginning of November, the car was sent to a service center for repairs, which, as it turned out later, drank a lot of blood from most of its fellow club members. The wheels were sent for repair and repainting, and new levers and a subframe were ordered for the car. While waiting for spare parts, Anton came across an advertisement for the sale of a compressor, ECU, forged piston and injectors, and the employees of the above-mentioned service persuaded him to buy: “Take it, it’s something to do for a couple of months - in the spring you’ll take off like a rocket!” However, what followed was 1.5 years of downtime, during which absolutely nothing was done to the car...
Take a deep breath
In search of reliable craftsmen, Anton took all the spare parts (compressor, 3.7 liter stroker kit, “850” injectors, 320 l/h fuel pump, racks, two broadband lambda probes, additional instruments, ECU, liners and kit for strengthening the automatic transmission) and transported them along with the car to another service. Due to problems with the compressor, the assembly was delayed from the promised 1.5 months to 5: the drive belt kept breaking, which made it impossible to set up the machine. Another open issue was the overheating of the box - the temperature rose to 130 °C. But even in this “raw” state, the engine was already producing 342 hp. With. on wheels and 487 Nm of torque versus 211 “force” and 300 “torque” in stock.

And then, by chance, fate brought Anton together with the guys from the third studio, where he continues to build “eggplant” to this day. The car received this name for the new non-standard color, which Nissan was eventually repainted in. The problem with the motor was solved by purchasing another compressor and assembling one from two, changing all the bearings and turning out new pulleys, as well as making additional stops and fastenings of the compressor plate to the motor. Overheating of the automatic transmission was eliminated by placing the cooler in a common “sandwich” with Spal fans.
The “Zetka” has also changed externally. It already had a VeilSide rear spoiler and a carbon hood, to which a VeilSide body kit with an extension was added. The wheels were replaced with enchanting 19-inch Leon Hardiritt Bugel. Next, lambo doors were installed, a rear view camera was installed, and complete noise and vibration insulation was carried out. After the run-in, minor defects were identified that appeared due to constant assembly/disassembly - of course, now they have already been eliminated, and the 350Z is waiting to be measured on the stand. By the way, the compressor pressure is increased to 0.9 bar, and at its peak it produces 1.1.

Wheels:
Tires: 255/35/ Dunlop Sport TT Maxx and 305/30/19 Bridgestone Potenza
Wheels: 19" Leon Hardiritt Bugel wheels (10j et -12 and 11j et -4)
The only upcoming exterior update is the wheels: the current ones are now on sale, and new ones have been ordered instead. These will also be Leon Hardiritt Bugel, but in a special edition with wild parameters: a width of 12 inches in the front and 13 in the rear, as well as an offset of -4/-67! Yes, yes, this is not a typo - minus sixty-seven! But innovations will not only be on the outside: an APS twin-turbo kit with more efficient cartridges has already been ordered, which in theory will allow more than 700 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque to be removed from the engine at a boost of 1.5 bar. Bimarco Cobra 2 buckets with Takata four-point seat belts are also waiting in the wings.
As you can see, there are simply no secrets to building a fast and beautiful car. To the question “Did you have some kind of tactics and did you stick to it?”, Anton confidently answers: “Yes! I had some kind of tactic from the very beginning, and I stuck to it!”
