Tuning VAZ-2113 Deutsche Lada: memories of the future


In 2005, the Lada family of cars was replenished with the new VAZ-2113 model. Manufacturers gave the car a modest look and spartan equipment.

The car has its fans due to its affordable price. And the unpresentable appearance makes it possible to refine it - tuning. In this regard, the “thirteenth” model has perhaps the greatest potential.

Appearance tuning

Improvements in the form of a muffler attachment, new mudguards, and several body kit elements are a thing of the past. High-quality styling kits produced by many modern enterprises change the car beyond recognition.

Sets of two bumpers cost up to 4,500 rubles. But they do not freshen up the car as much as extended kits with a radiator grille and thresholds, the cost of which does not exceed 8 thousand rubles.

Chrome inserts for the bumper, eyelashes for the headlights, and rear spoiler increase the cost of styling kits. The price of some of them reaches 25 thousand rubles.

For a more impressive appearance, many car enthusiasts purchase a rear wing for 4,500 rubles. Additionally, they take a decorative hood made of plastic for 7,000 rubles. Air intakes are installed on the hood at a cost of approximately 1,500 rubles.

DIY exterior renovation ideas

Well, I finally decided to show off my second car to the public.
Let's start in order. I bought this car in the fall of 2008, second hand, 4 months with a mileage of 14,000 km. I signed a car purchase agreement and drove off. True, before purchasing I thought for a long time because of the unusual color (Sochi color), I even arranged a new meeting to evaluate the color in daylight. As a result, by polling my friends, I put an end to choosing a car.

The kit included: r14 GR wheels, Michelin Energy Summer, r13 Vsmpo wheels, Pirelli Winter Carving, Star Line Twage A9 signaling and all sorts of little things related to music. A month after the purchase, I installed Exsan 6000k xenon. I am very pleased.

For a long time I couldn’t decide what to do with this car. Smart people advised replacing this unit with a foreign car and investing money in it. I agree that you need to invest a lot of money and then it won’t come back, but the desire to bring the car to the point of perfection, in my understanding of good style, did not leave me) So much experience was gained in the process of operating a Russian car, I didn’t want to think that it was all in vain. There are a lot of ideas that have not been implemented.

Yes, the car is not important from a technical point of view, and it is not prestigious, but I get into it and I feel good)

And yet, when I had more free time and it was warmer outside, I took another look at my 14k. I finally decided to start this aesthetic and very pleasant process of customizing my car.

I started with the interior... After 9, I was left with a bunch of excellent car audio components that were already tired of lying idle. And I decided to start tuning from the interior. The car is already 1.5. There are already crickets in the cabin) I found an excellent company that deals with sh.v.i. Prospectr We agreed on the next area of ​​work: noise vibration insulation 1. Engine compartment 2. Panels 3. Bottom.

It was possible to do it yourself, but experience shows that it is better not to) . At the same time, we modified the stove. And they laid power (+-) and interconnect wires. I was very pleased.

Salon tuning

A pile of faceless plastic and meager basic equipment gave impetus to the imagination of garage craftsmen. Considerable experience has been accumulated over many years in updating the interior of the Lada thirteenth model:

  • The steering wheel is replaced with a new one in the “sport” style for 2000 rubles, or the braid is changed.

  • Standard seats without side and lumbar supports made of fragile material are replaced with anatomical “GT” class ones with heating. Such as in the photo cost about 15 thousand rubles.

  • Door panels are updated. New ones, covered with high-quality material with holes for an advanced audio system, will cost the car owner 3,600 rubles.
  • The standard instrument panel gives way to a digital multi-function device with bright displays. The driver can adjust the lights. The new dashboard, like an on-board computer, displays critical errors and diagnoses vehicle systems. The user can change the design themes. Price – 21 thousand rubles.
  • The interior is insulated. Insulation is placed along the bottom of the car, in the door surfaces, and on the inside of the hood. Purchased in specialized stores. The material also reduces noise levels.

Back in 2007, a brand new “Trinashka” in “Milky Way” color replaced an old 20-year-old VAZ-2108 in my garage. The choice of model was deliberate: I wanted the same three-door Samara, but... new. After purchasing the car, it received the standard “gentleman’s kit” - alarm system, tinting, sound insulation, alloy wheels... Compared to the black “sisters”, my car practically did not stand out in any way. The transformation of a vehicle into a styling project began by accident.

In 2009, I accidentally saw a rare artifact in a car store - a set of completely new hubcaps from the German importer Deutsche Lada Automobil GmbH for dealer modifications of Samara. Everything was limited to fitting for a photo shoot, since in the summer I drive an equally rare VSMPO “forging” (more on that later), and the standard winter “stamping” back in 2007 was painted in the style of the German GTI hatchbacks of the 80s.

Then I somehow accidentally came across a set of Deutschelad stickers with various “Achtung” warnings. I thought it was funny to stick them on my car, since I always liked dealer modifications of Samar. Who knew that harmless stickers would give rise to an unusual five-year project for the “Deutschladization” of Samara...

After the stickers, “LS” nameplates appeared on the car in the central pillars instead of the Cyrillic inscription “LADA”. Ever since the days of the G8, I have liked such nameplates on Deutschelads, and it was not easy to get them: the proud owners of rotten German cars did not want to part with their ornaments in exchange for factory ones.

At the same time, another LS nameplate appeared on the front fenders - in fairness, I note that they are from the “nine”. Surprisingly, these parts were found completely new, like many others!

The next nameplate – “5 speed” – took its rightful place on the rear door. Once upon a time, this is exactly how the pedantic Germans singled out modifications of the Samara, equipped with a “five-speed”. Yes, yes, because most of the early “eights” were equipped with a four-speed gearbox.

On the right appeared the “injection” nameplate “Injection” - first “renault” (they were actually found on the early injection versions of Samara!), then - the more “gothic” Deutscheladovsky one. A light touch is the subtle inscription “Bitte ein Bit” (“one glass of beer, please”) on the rear window: also very “German”.

But not just nameplates! Last year we managed to stumble upon a real “Klondike”, where, in addition to various ornaments and stickers (completely new and not re-made!), we also managed to find a rare element of the aerodynamic body kit - an Austro-Hungarian FOHA upper spoiler. Unlike the lower Heck-spoiler, this “dahspoiler” was very rarely found on live Deutschelads, which is why its value is much higher than that of the “lower”. Needless to say, the spoiler fits perfectly into the appearance of the car, organically completing the roof line?

Along with the installation of the spoiler, the car received another noticeable touch: bright red decals from the Night modification (of course, the original was made in 1993, and not a remake!). Considering the color of the body, this detail turned out to be very appropriate: the decals “burning with a scarlet flame” greatly changed the appearance, enlivening the somewhat dull dark sidewalls.

Thus, the image of the “pseudo-German” VAZ-2113 in the Night configuration has practically been formed. I realized that this is exactly what Samara-2 could look like if it were supplied to the German market.

And that is not all! The following artifacts literally found themselves on me: first, the so-called “black finish” appeared on the rear panel - a black rear license plate hood. At this point, it became clear that the final look of my Deutschelade was only missing a couple of accessories: Hagus exterior mirrors and dealer-issued rear mudguards.

The Hagus found me on their own, but their thorny path was not easy: instead of the left mirror, by mistake of the transport company, I first received... Zara children's shoes, size 21. The right mirror required restoration work - the manufacture of some elements of the adjustment mechanism to replace the broken ones. An aspherical mirror element was purchased for the left mirror - completely new, in packaging.

Then the mudguards arrived. During the fitting, it became obvious that the so-called “European pens” did not fit at all with the strict style of German artifacts. I had to put the factory handles back in place - the same ones that are very reminiscent of similar parts of the Porsche 924...

A meticulous viewer may notice that my pseudo-German Samara has completely non-German wheels - and there is a reason for this. Forged VSMPO “Fantasy” wheels have long been my personal fetish, and “trying on” Melber dealer wheels in Photoshop did not convince me that they would look better than “forged” ones on my car. The only externally interesting option to me is the 14-inch Centra wheels, which were also offered to Deutschelads as an option. You can even buy them, but the “non-toothed” bolt pattern of 4x100 instead of 4x98 mm is confusing.

I think that parts from the Deutschelada look almost more appropriate on my car than on the first generation Samara for a simple reason: the Trinashka is already equipped with an aerodynamic body kit from the factory.

Inside, the interior is practically no different from the standard one, but instead of the original 2110 steering wheel there is a very interesting “steering wheel” with the index 2114 - this is exactly what Samara-2 should have come from the factory! A very rare part had been lying on the shelf of a provincial auto shop for almost ten years, where I bought it brand new!

In 1991, in the April issue of the magazine “Behind the Wheel”, in an article entitled “Cosmetics not our Ladas,” I read interesting words that sank into the soul of a Soviet schoolchild for a long time, looking at photographs with “Deutscheladas” for hours.
“But why doesn’t VAZ take into account the experience of small Western enterprises and begin mass production of attractive models with various types of bodies and configurations, which, for Soviet money, will fall into the hands of Soviet owners. I believe that such a time will come someday and they will be able to buy what was presented at the exhibition as “passenger cars of the USSR.”

A quarter of a century later, the time has come for me - I was able to “remember the future” and buy what was presented at the exhibition in the early 90s. And now every look at my car gives me a surge of aesthetic pleasure. This means that the Deutschelada project was worth it.

Modernization of the engine and chassis

The tuning of the VAZ-2113 power unit is changed so that the engine becomes stronger and fuel consumption decreases. In this case, you should entrust the work only to professionals, since it requires certain skills and knowledge. The procedure is as follows:

  • Boring the block head.
  • Selecting the crankshaft.
  • Change the rings.
  • Connecting rods, bearings and fingers are adjusted.
  • The transmission is changed for the new unit.
  • If desired, change gears and adjust to your driving style.
  • Replace spark plugs.

The work is simplified when special tuning packages are purchased. They increase engine power by 30-35%. They are installed in car service centers. The cost of the tuning package starts from 40 thousand rubles. After modernization, the unit is configured.

Summarizing all of the above, it should be said that tuning is not a cheap pleasure. A thorough approach to rework requires certain investments. Comprehensive tuning will cost the car owner 160-300 thousand rubles. But the car will be visually transformed, become interesting and very noticeable on the roads.

Standard method

Typically, a VAZ-2114 in black or another shade is classified according to a special label. It is located on the spare tire, in the glove compartment or trunk. The name of this card is “Form-3347”. The color is marked with a number because it often has an original name that is not related to its actual display.

Manufacturers often recommend that users write the color number on the inside of the fuel filler door. If the vehicle was purchased on the secondary market, the previous owner may have worried about this point. The warranty card also contains information about the color of the VAZ-2114 (photo of the car below). The information is recorded in the upper left corner using a special form (near the VIN).
