Power and signal connectors

It is unlikely that anything can be understood here without additional explanations. Let's list the main points:

To control the immobilizer bypass, you need to use “output 3” (black-red wire). The instructions say that it is activated in two cases: when the autostart or turbo timer is running.
The red wire is connected to the 30th terminal of the lock, the yellow wire to the 15th terminal. If autostart is not needed, the yellow wire is still connected.
The two cords included in the starter cable break are black and white and black and yellow wires. The first of them must be connected to terminal “50” directly.

The voltage on the ACC wire disappears when the starter engages. And the purpose of the green wire can be changed programmatically. By default, it duplicates the “output of the 1st circuit” (yellow cord), but can also duplicate the “ACC output”.

Your car alarm should track the position of the key. One cable from the “power” connector is connected in any case. This is a yellow insulated cord. Do not skip connecting it, otherwise you will not be able to complete the setup.

Autostart will not work if the signal wires are not connected. Of these, the first and ninth are “nutrition”. In general, the KGB FX system monitors the state of the limit switches:

Cord 16 is connected to the output of the handbrake limit switch or brake pedal (see diagram). The potential on the wire should vary from “12 Volts” to “zero”. It is useless to provide constant zero potential!
The door trigger wire also needs to be connected correctly. Automatic starting is prohibited when the door is open. You don’t have to connect the 7th and 17th cables, but then the meaning of installing the signaling is lost.
It would be very advisable to connect the control wire number “6”. There are two options: control by a charge lamp or by a tachometer. The settings are initially set to the first option.

Pedal or handbrake control

For a car with a manual transmission, the second option, shown in the figure below, is suitable.

The KGB FX-5 signal housing is equipped with a plastic cover. Below it is the gearbox selection loop. If we are talking about cars with “mechanics”, connection with autostart cannot be made without cutting this loop.

Only two power cables can be connected - yellow and red. This is done to use the turbo timer. Your security system is equipped with a semi-automatic timer. It works like this:

First, while the motor is not turned off, cord 16 should receive potential “0”;
Then the key can be removed, and the engine will continue to run for the time specified in the settings.

By skipping “step 1” you will cancel the timer. Which is true even if the gearbox loop remains uncut.

It would be very advisable to connect the control wire number “6”. There are two options: control by a charge lamp or by a tachometer.

On FX-7, F-10, G-5, GX-5RS, to set autostart based on temperature, you need to press and hold button 3 until the key fob emits 1 long and 1 short signal. If the control cord was connected to the tachometer, function 8 is assigned a value of 3 or 4. But this will not be enough. Training required:

First, turn on the ignition, press the Valet button 9 times and turn off the ignition;

FX-5 PCB

The main element here is the PIC16F77 chip. It contains a processor, memory, and ROM with firmware. You cannot download the firmware on the Internet, and you cannot even read it by installing the chip in the programmer.

The FX-5 ver 2 kit is now available in retail. It differs from the “first version” in the firmware. But the only way to update is by replacing the chip.

The KGB alarm of the model in question is a copy of another security system. It is produced under the Starline brand and designated as Twage A8. It is also equipped with auto start, and the A8 and FX-5 key fobs are interchangeable. The bottom line is that you can buy a Starline controller with A8 firmware if you wish.

Setting up autorun from the KGB key fob

You can start the engine from the alarm switch KGB FX 5, G 5, FX 10, GX 5 RS, F X 8, FX 7 (fix 7) in two ways.

Move the cursor to the “START” symbol and press button 2.
Press key 1 for three seconds. The engine will start. The side lights will flash three times and a melody will play on the key fob. The LED will light up continuously.
The screen will display the “Smoke from the exhaust pipe” symbol and the set engine warm-up time (5, 10, 15, 20 minutes).
One minute before the end of warm-up, r01 will appear on the display, a sound signal will follow, and the side lights will light up four times.

Move the cursor to the “START with thermometer” icon and press button 2.
The siren will sound once, the side lights will work once, and a melody will play on the remote control.
The “Thermometer” symbol will be displayed on the screen, indicating that autostart is activated based on degrees outside and the temperature value (-5, -10, -20 -30). The LED will flash.
To turn off automatic start based on temperature, move the cursor to “START with thermometer” and hold down button 2. The siren will sound twice, the dimensions will blink twice. A melody will play on the pager. The Thermometer symbol will disappear.

Instructions for registering old remote controls

Activation of the anti-theft system switches KGB VS 5000, MX-9, ex 8 series, VS 4000, tfx 5 (tfx 5), ex 7, VS 130, AX-5 begins with entering the programming mode.

Activate the ignition.
Triple-click the Valet button to pair the remote with a one-button configuration.
Click on the “Valet” key six times to record a two-key fob.
The siren will sound once. You have entered setup mode.

Follow the instructions below to record pagers.

Press any key on the first remote control. One signal will play.
Press any button on the second remote device. The siren will sound twice.
Following the previous steps, register the remaining transmitters.
Exit setup mode by turning off the ignition or without pressing anything for fifteen seconds. The system will confirm exit with three siren signals.
