Restyling of the VAZ 2109 from 2001 took place only in some parts of the body, so the entire base, including the suspension, wheel arches, hubs, etc., remained untouched. Therefore, the wheels on the VAZ 2114 that the manufacturer equipped its cars with were also the same.

In the simplest configuration with a 1.5 liter engine, the car came off the assembly line with 5.5J x 13 ET35 wheels, which corresponded to a radius of 13 inches and was suitable for high-profile tires with parameters 175/70/R13 and a bolt pattern of 4x98, and the drill diameter was 58.6 mm.
All other modifications from later dates (since 2003 with a 1.6 liter engine and since 2007 - 1.7 liter) were equipped with 15 radius wheels. Depending on how the car was equipped with various options, the dimensions were 5.0J x 14 ET35, 5.5J x 14 ET35, 6.0J x 14 ET35, tires came with parameters 175/65/R14 and 185/60/R14. This shows that the wheel offset does not change, and its width varies within 10 mm, which does not affect the stability of the car at all. However, with a tire width of 185 mm, maneuverability in difficult road conditions became slightly better.
Important ! The listed wheel sizes for the Lada 2114 satisfied few people, both in size and in terms of visual characteristics - in simple versions the stamped wheels were simply painted in metallic color, and in more expensive versions these same products were covered with decorative plastic caps. That is why car enthusiasts have always independently replaced factory wheels with options that are more acceptable to them, up to 17 radius in cast or forged versions.

Wheels with a radius of R14 are also installed at the factory, but owners change them not only when absolutely necessary, but also to improve the appearance of the car, so “cast” options are widely available on the market at an affordable price - 3-5 thousand rubles.
To choose the right wheels of this size, the owner should know some facts:
- If the choice fell on “stamping” with hubcaps, you need to make sure that the perforations in the wheels correspond to the clips on plastic or rubber products, otherwise the hubcaps simply will not fit and they will have to be secured with cable ties.
- It is best to choose ventilated wheels, that is, those that have a sufficient amount of perforation, because the brake disc or drum, as a rule, especially during long driving, gets very hot and can deteriorate.

Such discs are no longer standard, so they are often made both in “stamping” and in cast or forged versions, and the right of choice remains with the owner, depending on his aesthetic considerations and the size of the budget.
The main size recommended by the manufacturer is 6.0J x 15 ET45, 6.5J x 15 ET40 or 5.5J x 15 ET45. The maximum tire width can be 205 mm, and the offset can be 45 mm, and it must vary depending on the thickness of the rim in order to center the position of the wheel under the wheel arch.

When choosing such wheels, you need to take into account that the standard factory bolt pattern 4x98 is often replaced by the European standard 4x100, which is quite common in many compact cars from the world's leading manufacturers. This seemingly insignificant difference in the distances between the mounting holes is in fact extremely significant, because the tolerance in the manufacture of disks does not exceed 0.7 mm. As a result of this, a disk with center-to-center distances of 100 mm, even if desired, will not fit tightly on a hub with a distance between bolts of 98 mm.
Such a loose fit can lead to such unpleasant consequences as:
- disc beating while driving;
- spontaneous unwinding of fasteners;
- rapid wear of the wheel bearing.

But it is still possible to solve this problem, and there are three options. The first is to use bolts with offset heads, the second is to replace the bolts with studs, the third is to install a metal spacer between the disc and the hub. The first two options, although less expensive, are quite unreliable, since they do not provide the necessary fixation, and the studs, in addition, are not resistant to large torsional loads. That is why it is best to give preference to the last option.
Offset eccentric bolts
However, in this case, several important points should be taken into account:
- The thickness of the spacers used (which can be purchased at car dealerships) must be at least 20 mm.
- It is advisable to replace all the disks at once so that there are no differences in their removal.

That is why it is worth considering forged options, since only these discs, with greater metal strength, are quite light, because they are made of steel with a different chemical composition.
Important ! Alloy wheels on a VAZ 2114 in radius 16 or 17 are highly not recommended for use, since the lifespan of many parts in contact with the wheels is reduced several times.
The second aspect is that 17 radius practically does not exist in “stamping”, since thin metal is easily deformed, and the owner of a Lada 2114 is unlikely to be able to save money here.
Too low a rubber profile (40-45 mm) almost completely eliminates safe and comfortable driving in mud or loose snow, so this size is ideal for operating a car in urban environments and exclusively in summer.
When choosing these wheels, the driver can consider many foreign manufacturers, since the complexity of their production by domestic suppliers significantly affects the quality.
Among the disadvantages, one can also highlight the fact that the wheel arch of the fourteenth model does not allow the installation of a disk with a width of more than 215 mm, and with a radius of 17, one often wants to use a dimension of 235 or higher, which obliges the owner to install additional mudguards.

Forged wheels for VAZ 2114
All wheels and tires on a VAZ 2114 with a size larger than the factory one can be installed on the car only after consultation with an expert, unless there are any approvals from the AvtoVAZ concern for this particular size. The disadvantages of such discs are their weight and appearance. They are made of metal, which results in a lot of weight. All stamped discs are similar to each other, so they are not particularly popular in terms of beauty. The result is the purchase of wheel caps.
Cast
The second most popular are alloy wheels. They have a number of advantages over “stamped” ones. One of these advantages is the weight, which can be several times less than that of a stamp. Alloy wheels are made from aluminum and magnesium alloys.
Such substances are characterized by fairly low weight and good thermal conductivity, which ensures better heat dissipation from the car’s brake components. Also, these accessories can be of any shape, which gives a more elegant and presentable look to the VAZ-2114 on alloy wheels.
