Kia Rio 2 fuse diagram
The set of elements in the new body has not changed much since 2005. The 2007 and 2010 upgrades added new engines, which resulted in an additional diesel unit. Fusible elements for protecting electrical circuits remained divided between two main blocks - in the cabin and under the hood of the car.
Inside there is a main mounting block located directly on the instrument panel. The designations of the elements are placed on the back side of the cover.

Replacing a fuse on a Kia Rio in the cabin: detailed instructions with video
You don't need to have a higher education to replace a burnt-out lamp in your kitchen at home. The same action includes replacing a fuse in a Kia Rio car.
Due to the failure of the fuse element in the Kia Rio, the side lights may fail to work, and the engine may even refuse to start. It all depends on which system the blown fuse was responsible for.
The purpose of a fuse is simple - to open the electrical system when a high current flows through it. The circuit breaks by melting the thread in the overheating fuse. Then a surge in electric current cannot damage more expensive components in the Kia and the option of overheating, shorting out and igniting the car is excluded.
Interesting! Regardless of the year of manufacture of Kia (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), the location of the fuses is standard. The only difference is their number. This depends on the vehicle’s equipment (in 2003, certain safety and comfort systems were not installed in the Rio).
The fusible elements are installed in a mounting block, which is located under the steering column on the left side of the driver. The second unit is located in the engine compartment near the battery.
How to replace fuses in KIA Rio 3? Where are the fuse boxes in the KIA Rio 3?
- In the KIA Rio 3, all significant electrical circuits are protected by fuse links, and high-current systems are switched using relays. All fuses and part of the relay are located in two fuse blocks (mounting block):
- — the first block is located in the engine compartment near the battery on the left side;
- — the second unit is located under the dashboard on the driver’s side.
Fuse box in the engine compartment
- responsible for the fuel pump, ECU, air conditioning, fan, engine power, engine starting, ignition and other important circuits. Also in this block there are pliers designed for removing fuses and backup fuse links with a rating of 10, 15, 20 and 25A, one piece each (located on the block cover).
On the cover of the block there is a diagram of the location of fuses (with ratings) and relays. The power fuse block is installed on the right side. The block cover can be easily removed, just press the two latches located at the edges of the block cover, after which it can be easily removed. Table with transcript at the end of the article.
Fuses suitable for KIA Rio can be purchased in almost any store, including on the zip18.rf website. This online store sells both new and used spare parts.
Fuse box in the engine compartment
Fuse box in the passenger compartment
– is responsible for lighting fixtures, interior and license plate lighting, windshield wipers, instrument panel, DRLs, heated seats and many others.
To get to the fuse box in the passenger compartment, you need to remove the decorative panel at the bottom of the dashboard (on the driver's side near the door). The panel is first separated from the bottom and then completely removed.
It contains hints about the location and rating of fuse links. Table with transcript at the end of the article.

How to replace a fuse in a KIA Rio
- First of all, we determine which fuse has blown; to do this, use the diagram to look at the location of the fuse protecting the faulty circuit.
- We remove the burnt-out fuse-link with special tongs from the block in the engine compartment.
- If, after replacement, the fuse blows again, it is necessary to check the circuit of this fuse for a short circuit, and not install a more powerful fuse.
IMPORTANT! Replace the fuse only with the rating specified by the manufacturer.
Also, you cannot make bugs and jumpers yourself, this can lead to damage to the circuits and equipment of the car.
