Toyota Tundra has become one of the most popular cars among users of snowmobiles, ATVs and motorcycles, and simply among those who like to actively spend time off public roads. Not the least role in this was played by its legendary reliability, excellent maintainability and a huge selection of parts for tuning.

As you know, if there is demand, then supply will certainly appear. And today there are several companies on the market that specialize in modifying standard Toyota Tundras to meet the individual requirements of any, even the most demanding customer. All parts for such tuning, as a rule, are produced in the USA, thanks to which roads and off-road Russian destinations are filled with pickup trucks that look alike like twin brothers. True, our guest today was rather an exception to the rule. The machine prepared by those is unique primarily in its concept.

Instead of thoughtlessly hanging a pickup truck with banal power bumpers and expeditionary trunks, the center’s specialists completely, from scratch, developed a whole set of measures that made it possible to almost perfectly combine factory accessories with their own unique developments. At the same time, functionality has been improved without compromising Toyota's legendary reliability. The resulting car not only completely satisfied its very picky owner, but also caused a lively response among American and European fans of the Toyota Tundra.

FUNCTIONAL APPROACH

In order to cure the “ancestral” sore of the entire “tundra” family, perforated brake discs and pads from the American company Power Stop, which were optimal in terms of price/quality ratio, were installed on the front axle. This made it possible to forget about their deformation and improve the braking efficiency of a rather heavy car. The suspension includes shock absorbers from the Dutch company Koni and progressive springs produced at one of the Ural enterprises. Conventional “civilian” components were not chosen by chance; they were the ones that allowed the suspension to operate without any special problems for 60,000 km in any conditions, be it off-road or city use. This, by the way, is something sports shock absorbers from other brands cannot boast of, requiring constant additional and expensive maintenance.

To increase the vehicle's carrying capacity and improve the smoothness and comfort of the ride, a proprietary pneumatic system was installed on the vehicle. It uses Camozzi Pneumatics, Rubena components and a domestic compressor.

The additional volume of compressed air in the receiver mounted on the frame allowed the owner to inflate the wheels, use pneumatic tools and scare away unwary bears with the “Typhon T-37” sound signal from the electric locomotive.

To minimize the contact of the car's surface with the outside world, be it trees, ice ridges or compacted snowdrifts, a special protective frame was developed and manufactured. It includes front and rear power bumpers, also made in Russia, special protective sills and a massive expeditionary trunk with a load capacity of 350–400 kg. All these elements are rigidly connected into a single power structure, which is fixed to the car frame. Interestingly, the structure is made of steel pipes and rolled steel and is as repairable as possible.

The entire car, including the protective “skeleton,” is treated with a special polyurethane coating from the American manufacturer Line-X. It allows the owner not to worry at all about the appearance of scratches on the body during various off-road forays.

Almost a soldier. If you add camouflage paint and a machine gun turret on the roof, then you can go into battle tomorrow!

Like any off-road fighter, Tundra is equipped with front and rear winches, which, according to experts, are no worse than their more famous counterparts and very effectively help you get out of any, even the most serious, off-road trap.

For convenience, the spare wheel is installed on a special rear electric “gate” of our own design with remote control. To gain access to the back side of the pickup truck and the kung, you just need to press a button on the remote control - the wheel will automatically lower to the ground.

A whole complex of LED lights from the Chinese “top” brand Aurora is mounted on the expedition trunk. Now Tundra can illuminate the surface 360 ​​degrees around, and with varying degrees of intensity, which allows you to confidently move around in the dark. And that is not all. Thanks to an additional stainless steel gas tank with a volume of 240 liters made by Tver craftsmen and installed gas equipment with cylinders with a total volume of 200 liters, the cruising range of this Toyota Tundra is now about 2000 km at one gas station!

The resulting car has, albeit somewhat controversial, but undoubtedly a bright and memorable appearance. This is not a full-fledged off-road sports vehicle, but rather a car that clearly shows others the financial viability and social status of its owner. However, the all-terrain vehicle will not be afraid of Russian off-road conditions of moderate severity and at the same time will retain the maximum functionality and reliability of the Japanese legendary pickup truck.
