Gasoline cars of the FF2 model have 2 types of trainers:

• remove the pump fuse, shutting off the fuel supply;
• turn on the engine - idling it until it stops spontaneously will allow you to relieve pressure;
• Unscrew the filter fastening to the body (clamp);
• pull out both fuel hoses by pressing the corresponding clips;
• remove the old element;
• install a new cleaner.

To replace the mesh and submersible fine filter, you will have to work hard. The manufacturer did not provide a special hatch, as on other cars. The factory method of removing the fuel module is complicated - you need to dismantle the tank. It is much easier to do this - find the wires going to the pump and cut the metal at this point. All that remains is to bend the sheet of iron, unscrew the fastening nut and pull the module out. The mesh can be replaced or immersed for 30 minutes to be cleaned in a solvent. At the final stage, be sure to blow out the mesh with compressed air.

There is an arrow on the gasoline filter indicating the movement of fuel from the tank to the fuel pump. Do not mix it up during installation, otherwise gasoline will not flow...

Now, first we connect the fuel pipes to the filter. We press in the clamps that we pryed with a screwdriver and lifted. Now, screw the bracket to the body. On most cars, the fine filter is changed in the same way. The main thing is to be careful when working, because gasoline leakage is inevitable. Don’t delay with the replacement, just like with changing the engine oil, the sooner the better...

Before removing the tank, you need to relieve the pressure in the vehicle's fuel system. To do this, just pull out the 10th or 12th fuse on the car's mounting block. The number depends on the configuration. Having removed it, start the engine and wait until it stalls naturally, after which they proceed to replacement.

Replacement scheme

1. Unscrew the fastenings on the exhaust pipe, then move it to the side.
2. Unscrew the fuel pipes.
3. Remove the fuel supply hose from the tank roof.
4. Carefully disconnect the power cables.
5. Now you can unscrew the fasteners and remove the fuel tank. It consists of two parts; after removing it, unscrew the screws along the contour.
6. The next step is to unscrew the fuel pump cap.
7. Particular attention is paid to the power wires and the fuel gauge float. On its lid, on the inside, there is a mesh, which serves as a filter in the restyled focus. Roll it up and replace it with a new one.
8. After which everything is collected in reverse order.

The second Focus filter is not a cheap pleasure and is not always available in stores. In this case, you can use Toyota filters - they are almost identical in size.

Is it worth doing the work yourself?

Replacing the fuel filter on Focus 2 will not be easy. Both filters are located in the fuel pump module and according to the regulations do not change. This is a flaw of Ford; for Russia it was necessary to make replaceable filter devices. We have to either remove the tank or cut out a piece of the bottom of the car to access this device.

Please note that finding good spare parts can sometimes be difficult. If the car's mileage is more than 200,000 km, it makes sense to install a new original pump module along with new filters. But this is an expensive procedure, and it is also not easy to do it yourself.

It was no coincidence that the filter received this arrangement. According to the initial estimates of American engineers, replacing the fuel filter separately was not provided. Remove the filter cover

Don't get caught buying a fake. The catalog number of the original part is 1352 443. Bosch filters F026 402 007 can be used.

1. The filter is located to the right of the engine and is closed with a lid. The bolts can be easily unscrewed with a wrench; do not remove the cover yet.
2. Having slightly unscrewed the lower fitting, drain all the fuel into the substituted container.
3. By removing the cover from the filter, you can see the filter element itself. After wiping it, disconnect it from the body.
4. Install a new part and fill it with prepared diesel. All free space must be filled.
5. Reassemble everything in reverse order. Don't forget to close the fittings.
6. Tighten the parking brake, then start the engine and give gas (about 2000 rpm). To bleed air from the system, the motor needs to run for a minute or two.
