In particular, how is the air filter replaced in a Ford Focus. This machine, as you know, has several generations, each generation has some nuances during the procedure, let’s look at them.

To carry out the operation on Ford Focus 1, we will again need a Phillips screwdriver (and a rag). The filter element here is also square.

Now let's see how to replace the air filter on a Ford Focus 2. There are two types of air-cleaning elements on this car: square and cylindrical. The latter began to be installed after 2007.

To reinstall the square cartridge we will need:

• slotted screwdriver;
• star screwdriver;
• rags for cleaning.

Procedure.

• Use a slotted screwdriver to loosen the pipe clamp and remove the pipe.
• Disconnect the mass air flow and incoming air sensors.
• Use a star screwdriver to unscrew the cover screws and remove the cover.
• We reinstall the cartridge along with wiping the body with a rag.

To reinstall the cylindrical filter, you simply need to unscrew the 4 cover bolts with a “7” head and extension and reinstall the cleaning element and wipe the housing. The manufacturer recommends updating the cylindrical cleaner every 20 thousand km. But it’s better to do this more often in Russia, because everyone knows what the air is like on Russian roads.

Replacing the air filter in a Ford Focus 3 is identical to the procedure described for the second generation (with a cylindrical element). As for another popular foreign car: next we will figure out how to replace the Renault Logan air filter. This car has a round cleaner on 8-valve engines, and a rectangular one on 16-valve engines.

To replace the Renault Logan round air filter, in addition to a rag, we only need a Phillips screwdriver.

• We unscrew the five screws of the cover, which is designed so that they will not fall out.
• We open the two latches on the sides of the case and reinstall the element while simultaneously cleaning the cavity.
• Reassemble in reverse order.

In the case of a square cleaner, we need a minimum of tools:

• star screwdriver;
• slotted screwdriver;
• rags for cleaning.

Procedure.

• Remove the rectangular plastic air duct by unfastening the rubber clamp.
• We unscrew the two screws of the cover under the “star” - they will not fall out.
• We clean the case and replace the cartridge.
• We assemble from the reverse direction.

When replacing the air filter on a Renault Sandero, take a Phillips screwdriver, then proceed in the same way: unscrew 5 screws and unsnap 4 latches, then remove the old part, wipe it, and put a new one in its place.

To replace the air filter on a gasoline Renault Duster you will need:

• a simple screwdriver;
• star screwdriver;
• rags for cleaning.

Procedure.

• Remove the noise muffler.
• Unscrew the cover bolts under the “star”.
• Disconnect the brake booster hose.
• We remove the lid, replace the cleaning element while wiping the cavity.
